Good stuff. (From TPM)

3. I wouldn't put too much into this.
Wallace has complained many times because Obama won't come on Faux because it is not a real news network. I suspect he is trying to be "balanced" here so maybe Barack will change his mind. Just saying.

11. That's my take on it too...
Wallace and Fox know that if Obama freezes them out for being the propaganda arm of the RNC, the rest of the country will finally notice.

I hope Obama stiffs them at every turn.

5. I cannot believe what doofuses those three are.
I've never actually seen Fox & Friends except in these little clips, but I must say that the three principals come across as unusually dumb and goofy. The blonde looks like an airhead, one of the guys looks like a criminal, and the other guy looks like, well, he just looks like a doofus.

People watch these bozos? How pathetic.

8. Frankly I am tired of this crap
They say that they think people really wanted Obama to speak on how he felt about the comments from his minister and I say... I don't give a crap. Obama didn't say them and I am tired of hearing about them. Let's move back to the real issues and stop turning this election into a reality drama show. As was said... Obama has had major speaches on the economy and the war since then. These are the real issues facing this country.

God, that's a scary bunch.

And what kind of total waste of a lifetime has the time to sit around listening to such claptrap?

I can think of about 50,000 things that would make a more productive use of anybody's time, regardless of their political persuasion. There is no excuse for anybody who is not in a hospital bed in a coma listening to such utter garbage.

12. Backfiring ?
My guess is, since these people get memos every morning directing them to the issue of the day and Fox propaganda is tightly controlled by Murdoch and no major issue gets discussed without approval , this was an attempt to show some phony fair and balance . I hardly think they got religion , however they must be getting blow back from the their constant attack on Obama and think about it ,on the other hand the damage has already been done , from the phony Muslim accusation to the lapel flag pins , phony lack of patriotism .
Wallace had the go head to voice his opinion, i seriously doubt , He would be challenging his crime partners without approval from higher ups . That said , the vile attack will continue and NOW they can say , hey we all don't think alike .

24. You're right about the memos. But I've never seen anything like this on Fox News.
Then again, I never watch it, except for a few video excerpts on youtube and, very rarely, Fox News web site -- just for laughs.

I've seen the Fox and Friends segment while on business trips. It's hard to miss when a hotel has the tube blaring in the lobby or at airports. I've seen other carefully choreographed "balanced" segments on other shows. From my limited experience, this was just plain weird for Fox and Friends.

13. Does the recent John Gibson firing over at Fox News have them all running scared?
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 05:57 PM by krkaufman
Here's another clip from today's show, where "the guy who's not Steve Doocy" reportedly storms off the set after being harangued by his co-hosts ...

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/03/21/kilmeade-storms-off-fox-and-friends-set-over-co-hosts-obama-bashing

... and then you have the Hannity/O'Reilly bickering over who started the recent Wright controversy.

edit: p.s. Or maybe this comment from over at ThinkProgress has it right...
    # Vet Says:

I don’t have audio at work, so take my comment with a grain of salt.

I think this is a stunt, just like the staged fight between DilldoReilly and Geraldo.

They need to pull this act occasionally, in order to look at least a tiny little bit fair and balanced.

It sounds like this segment may have come before the Wallace interview. (So "the guy who's not Steve Doocy" must have returned to the set.)

21. Very odd. It seems like the "talking points" changed mid-stream...
and two of the hosts weren't "getting it."

IMHO, there may be confusion at Fox News on how to handle Obama, given recent events, as Wallace pointed out, the endorsement from Richardson. I get the weird feeling that some major realignment is taking place. The coming weeks should be very interesting ones on the campaign front. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some major announcements...

But hey, I read tea leaves... :tinfoilhat:

38. Shouldn't Murdoch have to disclose he held a fundraiser for Hillary?
For those of you that are not aware, Rupert Murdoch, owner of FOX, held a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's campaign on July 17, 2006, which raised $60,000. Roger Ailes attended although it is believed he did not donate. However, Rupert and his son, James, both gave personal donations to Hillary's campaign. Other executives of Newscorp gave a total of $40,000 towards Hillary's campaign.

Hillary defended Rupert's fundraiser to the London Financial Times saying "He's my constituent and I'm very gratified that he thinks I'm doing a good job."

Interesting, isn't it, how unbalanced and unfair FOX noise has been lately regarding Obama. Maybe this explains a lot of the anti-Obama sentiment.

Too bad FOX is not required to run a disclaimer stating he is backing one of the candidates.

40. I challenge more republicans to ask Fox to stick to the issues
and not to be the TV version of the National Enquirer. I also wish that CNN would stop repeating the "news" from Fox. I just spent two days in my car going to the Obama rallies in Oregon and I switched the XM radio back and forth between CNN and Fox(we listen to it briefly to see what the other side is saying)and after protests from my teenagers we settled on the BBC. Their response was "why can't American stations have real news?". Most thinking people see right through what Fox news stands for: Fake news over and over again. Good for Chris Wallace!
