2. I am the farthest from being a Clinton supporter but has anyone...
showed any evidence to what her part was in the meeting? Is there anything that is concrete that she was for NAFTA in those meetings? If there are it would only give more reason to why I wont vote for her but I wouldn't jump on any bandwagon if there is no proof? All I have seen so far are papers showing she was supposed to attend.

3. According to this, 'Clinton worked on behalf of the accord'.

The NAFTA agreement, linking trade between the United States, Canada and Mexico, was considered a major accomplishment by President Bill Clinton in 1994.

But now many Americans blame the agreement for the loss of thousands of U.S. manufacturing jobs.

NAFTA has become such an issue on the Democratic presidential campaign trail that both Clinton and rival Barack Obama have vowed to renegotiate it.

The former first lady's records showed first lady Clinton worked on behalf of the accord.

Among the thousands of details of daily life for Clinton, there was a Nov. 10, 1993, entry -- a "NAFTA Briefing drop-by," in Room 450 of the executive office building next door to the White House, closed to the news media.

Approximately 120 people were expected to attend the briefing, and Clinton was to be introduced by White House aide Alexis Herman for brief remarks concluding the program.

4. For me it only says a drop by, not her agenda on NAFTA, I will...
wait to see more. I do believe she was for NAFTA but then I believe she is connected at the hip with the elite and their agenda too!

Obama Supporters Still Basing This Trumped Up Garbage on Nuggets From This 2nd Order "News" Piece?!

Extracting from the following tidbit of info from the original report that Hillary pushed NAFTA?!

"Among the thousands of details of daily life for Clinton, there was a November 10, 1993, entry -- a "NAFTA Briefing drop-by," in Room 450 of the executive office building next door to the White House, closed to the news media.

They got all this purportedly damning evidence against Hillary from THAT?!

OMIGOD! All Obama supporters must be mind readers!

THE RECORD: NAFTA MEETINGS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

snip//

* ABC: Two Attendees Said "It Wasn't A Drop-By It Was Organized Around Her Participation" And "Her Remarks Were Totally Pro-NAFTA And What A Good Thing It Would Be For The Economy." "Two attendees of that closed-door briefing, neither of whom are affiliated with any campaign, describe that event for ABC News. It was a room full of women involved in international trade. David Gergen served as a sort of master of ceremonies as various women members of the Cabinet talked up NAFTA, which had yet to pass Congress. 'It wasn't a drop-by it was organized around her participation,' said one attendee. 'Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. Folks were pleased that she came by. If this is a still a question about what Hillary's position when she was First Lady, she was totally supportive of NAFTA.' That first attendee recalls that the First Lady's office in the East Wing put together 'the invitation list, who was invited authorizations and all that stuff.' And what is this attendee's response to Clinton today distancing herself from NAFTA? 'For people who worked hard to pass NAFTA and who support the importance of markets opening for the economy in the long term, they're very upset. A number of the women who were there are very upset. You need to have some integrity in your position. The Clintons when Bill Clinton was president took a moderate position on trade for Democrats. For her to repudiate that now seems pretty phony.' Recalls a second attendee, 'they were looking for women in international trade who supported NAFTA. Senator Clinton came by at the end. And of course she asked for our support and help in passing NAFTA.' Women who attended that event, the second attendee says, have been incredulous to see Clinton distance herself from the trade agreement as she campaigns today. 'They're all saying, 'What's this all about?' We all heard it firsthand.' She says Clinton isn't being honest with voters today." {ABC News, 3/19/08}

11. Again: Who Are These 2 "Attendees?" What's Their Agenda? Are Their Recent Bank Records Open...
Again: Who Are These 2 "Attendees?" What's Their Agenda? Are Their Recent Bank Records Open.. to Investigation?

Even according to the article:
"Recalls a second attendee, 'they were looking for women in international trade who supported NAFTA. Senator Clinton came by at the end.

Also since Hillary simply made a brief appearance at the end of the meeting, regardless if it was an organized affair for David Gergen, it was exactly as she had stated in her records as far as she was concerned that her attendance was just a drop in.

Do you really think a First Lady could outwardly and publicly work against an initiative her husband was working for -- for whatever reasons he felt that initiative was important -- Hillary is NOT her husband, I think she served both roles well as a wife and then separately as an individual?

Jesus, Mary & Joseph, can you imagine the field day the press and the Right-Wingers would have had against her, had she openly worked against her husband the President on anything?

I think she met the committments she perfectly well should have, while still maintaining her own separate ideas and opinions!

#1. Blog Interpretations of News Are NOT Reliable Sources of News, Nor Facts, Nor Truth.

So that fact alone shoots down your Jake Tapper 2nd order non-news "News."

#2. I recognize I'm not really working with critical thinkers here, but from the details of the AP article whose URL you posted Pete Yost is talking out both sides of his mouth as fast as he can:

"Hillary Rodham Clinton's early job as health care policymaker gave way during the remainder of her years as first lady to a more traditional, restricted role, according to thousands of pages of calendars outlining her activities in the White House."

This means she had little if any active role in setting any kind of policy or pushing any agendas in Bill Clinton's second term.

And when Yost says the following:

"Clinton was an early champion of the North American Free Trade Agreement that she now criticizes. The schedules show her holding at least five meetings in 1993 aimed at helping to win congressional approval of the deal.

She also pushed NAFTA on multiple occasions, including one in November 1993 at a closed meeting with 120 expected participants. As a presidential candidate, she blames the pact for costing jobs and promises to renegotiate it.

The calendars raise at least as many questions as they answer about her statements in the campaign promoting her foreign policy experience."

He's stating ersatz "facts" not in evidence not quoting or citing any details from Hillary's papers merely substituting opinion and hearsay for documented details!

13. I Think In Keeping With Being the Wife of a Sitting President, She Neither Opposed NOR Pushed NAFTA
I Think In Keeping With Being the Wife of a Sitting President, She Neither Opposed NOR Pushed NAFTA in Public. But I believe she may very well have opposed it in private.

She behaved in an honorable, upright manner as a woman, a lady and the First Lady of our country.

I believe Hillary had her own opinions on various issues, some matching her husband's and some differing.

BUT she put her opinions and positions aside to support those of her husband who happened to be our President at the time.

14. why couldn't she just say that though?
you might be right. i kind of doubt you are.

but she didn't say what you said; she said she was a critic, and cited gergen as proof.
