Minneapolis - Labor Against the War will join in a march and rally to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq and demand an end to U.S. involvement.
The march will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Hennepin & Lagoon Avenues in Minneapolis. Participants will march to Loring Park, where a rally will be held.
The event is organized by several Twin Cities peace organizations. "The reasons given for the war have long ago been exposed as lies and deceptions," the groups said in announcing the march. "The majority of the people of Iraq want U.S. troops out of their country, and the majority of the people of the U.S. want the troops brought home."
At its monthly meeting Wednesday, the St. Paul Trades & Labor Assembly, AFL-CIO, endorsed the march.
