COUNCIL BLUFFS — The City of Council Bluffs and its police union have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract that calls for a 2.5 percent wage increase in each year.

The union also has agreed to phase in increases in employee contributions to health insurance premiums so that at the end of the contract the employees will pay 10 percent of their premiums.

The City Council will vote Monday evening on the contract. If approved by both sides, the contact takes effect on July 1, the start of the next fiscal year.
