The Teamsters union has picked up 40 new members in Oakland California – the latest medical marijuana workers to unionize. The medical marijuana growers joined Teamsters Local 70. Earlier this year a hundred medical marijuana workers in Oakland joined the United Food and Commercial Workers. The new Teamsters medical marijuana growers contract provides a pay boost of $7.75 an hour within 15 months, a pension, paid vacation and health insurance.
