It's been more than 1,000 days since American Airlines and the Transport Workers Union began talks on a new contract.

It's been more than 800 days since the contract became "amendable," to use the Railway Labor Act language.

Now, we should learn Tuesday if three of the TWU groups -- mechanics and related, stores and technical specialists -- approved or rejected the contracts.

Word is that there was very high percentage of eligible members who voted, and a lot of ballots were sent in toward the beginning of the four-week balloting period.

We know there has been a lot of passion over the pros and cons of the contract. I'm sure many employees who are afraid of a strike still voted against it. I'm sure many employees who hated the tentative agreement still voted for it.

FULL story at link.
