300 New Jersey Nursing home Workers end Strike Against Omni

http://www.laborradio.org/node/11714

Three hundred nursing home workers returned to work Monday after a three-day strike at nursing homes in Hudson County, New Jersey. The workers have been without a contract since July 2007. They are seeking an offer of fair wages and affordable health care from Omni Corporation. According to SEIU 1199 which represents the workers, some of the nursing assistants are paid as little as $7.90 per hour and pay as much as $400 per month for family health care.
