Mary Jo Connelly, retired Education Minnesota member, and Scott Dulas, member of National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 114, participated in a Duluth phone bank to contact members of Congress about health care.
More than 1,000 Minnesota union members called upon their representatives to enact health care reform that includes a public option. It was all part of a national call-in day for health care organized by the AFL-CIO.
During the August recess, union members and other supporters of universal health care will meet with members of Congress in their districts to discuss pending legislation. The U.S. House of Representatives has put forth a reform plan but is waiting for action in the Senate.
