Our friends at the Victory Fund have learned Kathy Martinez will be appointed to serve as the Assistant Secretary for Disability Employment Policy at the Department of Labor. Martinez, who is openly lesbian, is currently the executive director of the World Institute on Disability.

Blind since birth, Martinez is an internationally recognized disability rights leader. In 2002 she was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the National Council on Disability.

In 1997, Martinez helped stage the International Leadership Forum for Women with Disabilities, which attracted more than 600 participants from 80 countries.

we were living in a country or culture where one's sexual orientation isn't important. I get tired or reading about it. Question should be, can the person do the job.

they just want people to be stupid and hateful like them. Conservatives and their "values" make us all tired.
