Aetna Cuts 1,000 Jobs

Aetna announced on Wednesday that it would be cutting 1000 jobs in an attempt to reduce costs. The employees will be let go by year end with the most coming from Aetna’s home state of Connecticut. Three hundred seventy five job cuts will be made in the New England state with an additional 165 coming from Pennsylvania and the rest from various offices around the country. Aetna has experienced a great deal of growth during the last 18 months adding more than 5,000 jobs.
