Maybe someone here in labor
can answer a question for me.

Back before I finally filed for disability, I collected unemployment. I got benefits up to the "first" extension, but at that time, no second extension had been approved. It was 6 months later that I filed for disability after my doctors found I qualified for it.

I spent quite a while with no income at all--my mom helped out with a couple of hundred dollars a month, but it was a bitch trying to make ends meet on $300 a month. Anyhow, I noticed a second extension finally went through in the past week or so, so I just want to know: am I still entitled to that extension, even though it's been a few years since my "time" on unemployment?

At this point in time, I want to make sure I get what I am due, because this administration has certainly tried everything to fuck us over. So while normally I would not pursue this issue further, if there is a chance to benefit for all those months I spent without income of any sort unemployed, I will go after it. And this period of time does NOT interfere with the back benefits I got for disability. The only difference is I have moved from California back to Massachusetts in the interim.

How far will a couple of phone calls take me? Just curious at this point.

1. It can't hurt to try over the phone

It may very from state to state. I know in Nebraska, it wouldn't happen. I do know if your on an extension ANYWHERE it the US and the unemployment rate falls enough in your state, you won't get your remaining weeks. Been there thanks to Raygun and his first week in office.
