Support Harvard Security's Right to Organize!
Security officers at Harvard are fighting for a living wage, full-time employment, safe and sanitary working conditions, and the right not to be fired or disciplined without just cause. Last semester, after being outsourced for years and losing union representation, officers joined with students to win the right to organize and, ultimately, elected a union! Now, AlliedBarton, their direct employer, is even denying them that - they are misclassifying 32 guards as "managers" just to keep them out of the union. Harvard's response? "Not our problem."

Students and professors are standing up for security. We believe that it IS Harvard's responsibility to ensure decent working conditions on our campus. We believe that it IS Harvard's responsibility to recognize security officers as important members of our community. So far, 14 student organizations and 870 students, faculty, alumni and community members have said they agree with us. And there are more every day. Right now, 85 of us are showing our commitment by fasting for justice for 24 hours. If this issue is still unresolved by Monday, we will begin a 48 hour fast to pump up the pressure. Security guards have gone without for too long - now is the time to STAND FOR SECURITY!
