the evolving brand of the bad guys.

When bush had an above 50% popularity rating, repeating
his name actually contributed to his advertizing. So
many labels like BFEE, shrub and * have been used on DU,
often by folks who don't like indignifying themselves by
even repeating the tosser's name.

Now that he is below 50% approval, his name is actually
a benefit in media-framing. It creates a crystallized consensus
of concern - all negative for the republicans - the dems have
the strategic opportunity to make republican roast lame duck
this november with their own man's brand.

Its cool, this shift, but a branding concern is that
it is become personalized and they'll be able to shed it with the
snakeskin of bush in 08... yet for now, my media common sense lackoff
says "bush" works against them..

They were able to scapegoat nixon and stick around to do it
again with another agency. It is worrysome that the scapegoating
possibility resurrects again.

Like in the stephen king novel IT, the republicon "it" is back,
perhaps 'cuz it was not named and shamed last time round.
