Dean 2004 Software - What was it?
Hey guys - does anybody remember the name of the web software Howard Dean used for organizing supporters in 2004? It's on the tip of my tongue! I know that the company continued to work on the software, I'm just not sure if it still exists.

Thanks a ton!

Matt

1. Yeah, it still exists.
On the other hand, I will be jiggered if I can remember the name of it.

It may have gone not-free as well, but I may well be wrong about that. If you need some info on good free website packages, PM me.

About Us:
CivicSpace Labs is a funded continuation of the DeanSpace project which provided web sites and other tools to a vast ad-hoc network of organizations supporting Howard Dean for President in 2003. We are veterans of both the Clark and Dean campaigns and we are now building the tool-set of our dreams.

The technology platform underlying CivicSpace is called Drupal and has been in development for more than four years by a community of open-source programmers around the world.

4. here's a problem: I used the software & my blog attracted a lot of
advertisers for online poker, XXX rated sites and so on. I contacted my IT guy who was helping me with the technology and he told me the only way I could get rid of the unwanted attention was to delete the blog "comments" one at a time. This was very time consuming as sometimes I'd find hundreds of unwanted ads.

Can this be corrected so a host could delete a bunch of unwanted comments at one time?

5. disable comments or limit them to authenticated users

of course there are ways to delete multiple comments, but you probably need to "get under the hood" and do it at the FTP/MySQL level or write your own script to do it...
