I bought a Sirius Satellite unit yesterday.

I've been weighing Satellite for a couple of years. At first I was leaning towards XM because Sirus at that time seemed to be losing traction in the market of two. Then AAR appeared and was soon inserted into "Sirius Left". XM had AAR, but they didn't have AAR's full programing. So much as XM. Then we suddenly got an AAR affiliate here in Atlanta. With the election looming, my satellite desire diminished anyway. I was listening to AAR a Lot. Then XM paid AAR to leave Sirius. I was damn glad I didn't invest in Sirius.

A year ago Howard Stern signed with Sirius. I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I support his fight. I could listen now and then. He is entertaining, and he hates Bush and Rush. That's good. I've heard him online and on occasion when I was in a city where he broadcasts. Recently, I've been thinking about satellite again. I've had several rental cars with XM radio, and I Love having the variety at my fingertips. I assumed I would go with XM (for AAR), but started having second thoughts. Both networks have mostly similar stations for music. Since I have AAR locally and streaming online, AAR is not a strong draw on satellite.

I decided on Sirius. To support Howard, and not to support this on XM:

On edit, I have to warn audiophiles. The sound quality of Satellite Radio (both) is not great. Much better than AM, but not quite as good as FM. I am very sensitive about sound, but can forgive this shortcoming for the variety. Hopefully in the future, the satellites and systems will be upgraded. That would cost Satellite billions, so don't hold your breath.

1. So what's the scoop on Howard and Beth?
Did they actually get married over the holidays? He was supposed to announce today whether they did or not?

2. No. Another couple got married on the beach at their resort.
A tabloid "got it wrong" and published that it was Howard and Beth.

6. I listened to it for about an hour last night. Awesome!
For the first few days with satellite radio I plan to get little sleep.

I was up until two and got back up at six for Howard.

9. I still have Sirius....but I found this at
the Buy Blue Web site.....XM give 75% of their campaign contributions to Democrats!

http://www.buyblue.org/node/2566/view/summary

On the other hand....Sirius give a pinch more to republicans......

I was greatly surprised about XM.......

10. I was excited about FOX News Talk
because it meant that Colmes gets the hell off of the AAR channel and onto FOX where he belongs... meanwhile, make way for Mike Malloy!

13. Can you imagine Faux playing down it's only (supposed) liberal?
I can't imagine such behavior from the "fair and balanced" crew - can you?
