By the way, can anyone recommend good threads that have a thorough summary of l'affair Abramoff as we know it? Particularly that describes his role in financing Republican election campaigns which I kind of understand to be huge?

The part where he fraudulently represented the Native American gambling interests I think I pretty much understand, and I guess it's as yet unclear whether or not he is involved with the murder of that guy in Florida who purchased the cruise line from him...

The illegal part only happens when there's a quid-pro-quo.

I suspect there's a link between Abramoff and DeLay's redistricting in Tx, and that COULD prove to be illegal, but just donating $$ to a campaign is OK.
