22. Also on wonkette, 2nd item

Here’s Helen Thomas with a shitload of roses. Because she finally goaded Bush into admitting that his entire administation has been a failure and that he’s personally responsible for a number of war crimes. Or because she finally got a chance to actually ask him a question, which he easily dodged. We don’t remember which, tell you the truth.

3. Here's a cool comment from Kudos - who was a volunteer - more pics
It was 99% DU effort and 1% Kos (8+ / 0-)

I managed to infiltrate the event!

I happened to answer a note asking for help with the "floral processing" and spent the day with a bunch of great DU peeps.

I'm writing a diary with all the days details... I'll self-impose a Saturday midnight deadline for publication - I can't miss a long awaited friendly poker match this evening. So, until then I will say it was awsome!

Helen sat down and talked shop for nearly an hour. We all let her know that both DU and Kos would melt if she could find time to visit.

It's been surreal, in a way... a reporter from the Hill called earlier today and said Helen Thomas had given him my number for the story behind the story. I gave him my story, and sent him to the brains over at DU who pulled it off. I promise a full report and inroduce the characters you see in these pics:

(There were more folks who helped out, but couldn't stay unfortunately :)

See you tomorrow night! Ish!

Oh, I forgot to mention

that the flowers were donated to Walter Reed Army Medical Center this afternoon.

9. Great! I see that willers from DKos is drumming up support
for sunflowers for Russ after reading about our wonderful success in sending 100 dozen roses to Helen. Perhaps we can join their efforts for Russ, especially, since we had a Kossack help prepare the roses for Helen.

21. I don't think so, helderheid; I'm not a member, I just
browse occasionally, especially stories about brave women, a generous community, and a gross of flowers! Sorry...but I'm sure there are people here that will.

Thank goodness I'm not alone!

I'm seriously sitting here with tears in my eyes. What a wonderful gesture to a truly amazing woman.

And how sad that it had to be made.

To the folks who thought this up - kudos of the highest order. People like you make me even prouder to be a liberal and make me want to work harder at being a good human being. Y'all made my day. Thank you.

Yes, I have no idea what's going on (5+ / 0-)

but am a bit sentimental-teary from the above picture and description, as well.

Gosh, I'm such a mush.
