2. NO
Why open old wounds. what good does it do? And I don't think anyone should be blamed. No one knew what was going on.

5. Well, considering
the Government want to put a man to death for 9-11, I think someone claims to know what was going on.

8. Oh, puhleeze!
We've been living with an old festering open wound for five years now. Every single freakin' time a plane goes down, the FCC releases the black box tapes. But on this one, suddenly it's too sensitive. Bullshit. It is nothing more than more coverup for the massive fuck-ups that took place.

12. Welcome to DU...please read around the 9/11 forum.....
:hi:....a couple definitions...MIHOP..made it happen on purpose...LIHOP..let it happen on purpose....the Pentagon KNEW and didn't scramble jets to intercept the planes on 9/11 as per standard military procedure before and since.

19. No one knew?
You mean, like, first responders? Or are you trying to say that the criminals in the White House, who were warned long before 9/11 that attacks were coming, didn't know?

Hope it's the former, because the latter is not only laughable, it's a fucking lie.

4. I'm not too keen on it.
I really don't think they should be public, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to hear any of them. Let the victim's families hear them if they want, and leave them in peace.

6. If the families want to hear them in private, that is OK by me
otherwise, I am not sure of the public value..although I am guessing that the Bush admin would love nothing more than to make the public right now....they need to sharpen up the fear factor of us unrully citizens.

22. Exactly. Those who promote public airing of these tapes will regret
doing so, once they see the planned effect, and the way in which it will benefit BushCo.

9. I'd much rather hear the cock pit recorders
and see the data from the black boxes on the planes. That would be much more useful.

16. There were no black boxes or cockpit recorders recovered
according to the official version.

Those four crashes are the only instances of unrecovered boxes in the history of land crashes in the US.
And that includes the jet that went down in the Everglades.

I find that really interesting, somehow.

21. Supposedly some of the black boxes were recovered
Edited on Fri Mar-31-06 04:43 PM by DoYouEverWonder
I don't have the links off hand (at work) but they definitely recovered black boxes at the Pentagon and in PA. Also, they allowed the Flight 93 families to listen to the cockpit recordings so we know those were recovered.

10. No, I want the real story of 9/11 to be made public...
and I want those who are responsible to be brought to trial and executed if found guilty.

These tapes are another distraction.

14. I want to see the security tapes that captured the Pentagon "plane crash"
The security video tapes that were confiscated from private businesses by the Feds before anyone could see them.

Show us those and the entire 9/11 plan/coverup will be exposed.

20. Absolutely not. What good is this going to do?
It will simply re-open the wounds of people who lost their loved ones.

It would be much more helpful to declassify all of the warnings of passenger liners being flown into large buildings; the warnings that Bin Laden was poised to strike the WTC again; and the truth about the "exercises" that were taking place that day. THAT might make a difference.

Guess I'm saying I don't want to accidentally hear it on CNN when I'm trying to catch the weather, but I do think if there's info in there, it should be available.

24. Chris Hanley's Parents are Great!
I watched Chris Hanley's parents on a local New York news channel. They gave permission to release their son's 911 call. Their reason - they are tired of all the secrecy of our government!

I gave Chris's parents a huge  Hearing their son was extremely hard for them. Brought tears to my eyes.

27. Available to families who desire to hear them, for litigation and possibly
archived for history but I have no desire to hear them played on the evening news. It just doesn't serve any purpose, doesn't resolve anything (for me).

For the families and as historic documentation maybe, but certainly not for broad public. No good can come from publishing them.

29. Tapes
Of course they should be heard. We all have a right to know what those people went through and how the calls were handled. There is too much secrecy surrounding 9-11. I have read some of the transcripts and even that is painful, but I was really disturbed by the dispatchers and their failures. More than anything it reminded me of the horror and helplessness that the people in the Towers felt. Don't ever be afraid to hear the truth. Now about the Pentagon------?
