About one year ago, I was invited by the producers of Bill O'Reilly's show, as well as by Bill himself, to come on that program as a guest. I had received several such invitations over a one-year period, and finally decided that I wanted to find out what "The Factor" experience was all about.

1. Well-written and sharp.
Baldwin is no slouch in print. And I love that he's smart enough to play O'Reilly against Hannity. God knows Hannity would love to have the audience that O'Reilly does. And I'm sure it eats him up inside to be called second best so publicly. Just makes me smile to think how much this must stick in Sean's gullet. Good job, Mr. Baldwin!

2. Interesting
very complimentary of O'Reilly

O'Reilly seems to treat those "in the business" in a completely different way than those in politics, or activists.

4. What a pair of assholes
To call in and attempt to bully Alec by using his pending divorce to raise his ire and make him say something that plays into their hand is so typical of Sean Hannity's style. This was thought out well before they called in to the show.

Baldwin did the right thing to leave the show at that point, because if I know Hannity, there was a phase two of the attack....Apparently accusing him of despising the "working class". Two words that Hannity knows little of.

It's only a shame that Alec Baldwin felt the need to respond in a needless effort to clear his name.
Sean Hannity is a small pathetic little souless man who even stands in the shadow of sociopath Mark Levin.

5. all the comments are in Alex's favor....this one got me....
"long ago as a young man i remember reading a story written by loren eisley. in it a ragged ill dressed hobo gets on a train full of normal prosperous well dressed bathed passengers.as the conductor walked down the aisle collecting fares and tickets, being human beings the other passengers watched and waited for the conductor to throw the bum off.in their socialized world where every evil was rationalized and compartmentalized to ward off any thing that did not fit their ill conceived norm they thought, that a person dressed like that and who smelled like that, could never pareticipate in their narrow self constructed world. when the conductor stopped in front of the bum and asked for his ticket, they all held their breath waiting to see what happened. the bum opened his gnarled dirty hand and lo and behold, it held his fair,in greasy wrinkled small denominations. the bum looked around in defiance at his enemys and rasped, " i want a ticket to whwereever they are going". that has been my own way to deal with the sickness of the human race. to wind up wherever they wind up and when they order their coffee and bagel, i will order mine too. but with the advent of the bush crowd, i am not so sure anymore. i really don't want to go where they are going, and neither should anyone else in their right mind. let bush, rove, bill o'reilly, sean hannity, rush limbaugh, antonin scalia, and those of that ilk go wherever they wish. we others need top find another destination."

6. Deliver Us From Sean Hannity
Deliver Us From Sean Hannity by Laurence M. Vance

http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance16.html

The book jacket describes him as "the hottest talk-radio personality in the country," the host of "the number one debate program on cable television today," the host of an afternoon radio show "which is heard on four hundred stations and by more than twelve million listeners," and the author of a "New York Times bestseller." Perhaps it was just an oversight, but the publishers forgot to add "militant warmonger," "Republican apologist," and "Bush idolater."

Most people first heard of Sean Hannity when he made frequent appearances as a guest host for Rush Limbaugh. More militant, more religious, and without any "baggage" that has dogged Limbaugh (like drug use, questions about military service, and multiple marriages), Sean Hannity has taken the nation by storm. His new book, Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism (Harper Collins, 2004), is itself evil, for if Hannity’s philosophy is followed, terrorism will increase, despotism will continue, and liberalism will triumph.

The title of the book has obviously been appropriated from the "Lord’s Prayer" (Matthew 6:13). Hannity invokes religion early on in the book. He claims that "Islamic extremists" attack us because "we’re a largely Judeo-Christian nation that supports Israel" (p. 15). In the last chapter he terms President Bush’s goals in Iraq "our righteous goals" (p. 242).

Hannity’s Quest for Evil

Hannity wrote the book because of one thing: the existence of evil. He writes in the beginning of the first chapter: "I decided to write this book because I believe it is our responsibility to recognize and confront evil in the world – and because I’m convinced that if we fail in that mission it will lead us to disaster" (p. 2). He also says near the end of the first chapter: "This is a book about the reality of evil in the world, about the importance of acting against it, and about the urgency of confronting and opposing those who won’t" (p. 23). The book ends with an epilogue where Hannity maintains that "the sheer persistence of evil" is a challenge of the future (p. 275).

The word "evil" is mentioned so many times in the opening chapters as to render it meaningless. Hannity apparently senses this and gradually uses the word less and less as the book progresses. Forms of the word "evil" appear in each chapter the following number of times: http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance16.html
