From a personal conversation with a Tibetan Buddhist Monk: Bush is just
not that smart. He is not really smart enough to understand his actions....but, Cheney...Cheney is....evil.

Nothing we really didn't know, but I thought I would share that with DU.

Oh, and he also said that the first Chinese cars sold here will be really good, but after that they will suck. ;)

1. he's a tibetan buddhist monk
therefore, everything he says you can take to the bank.

any more than I would believe anyone else because of their religion or group affiliation. I'll stick with my individual vibe-meter.

21. But you apparently don't trust his estimation of the monk's assessment...
I just thought you figured your opinion (without having met the monk) was somehow superior to the opinion of the person who knew him. You say you wouldn't believe him just based on what Thtwudbeme said. Hmm...

24. personally, I don't believe
Edited on Sun Mar-26-06 07:21 PM by bedpanartist
anything anyone says outside of my circle of proven trustworthys without my personal research, etc...

Nothing against thumpum though.

I guess I was just pointing out that because the dude is a tibetan monk doesn't make his opinion/observations any more valid had he been a tibetan garbageman.

Personally, I think Bush is a calculated genius for acting so goddamn dumb and garnering such worship. I go along more with rotten.com estimation of his skills.

and my shit detector says he's right about both Stupid and Cheney. I don't think the initial Chinese cars will be that great, though. They've got a major pollution problem to fix, they're built to standards some 30 years old.

Maybe you can help me out here. I was relating a personal conversation that I had...I thought it was interesting.

Maybe you can tell me how you read "Omniscient Buddhist Monk" into my post.

Thanks...I am eagerly awaiting your response so that I might clarify my original post.

I stay put pretty much most of the time in the Urban Appalachian Babylon of the United States, and therefore, do run into Appalachian Buddist monks and monkeys.

20. Heh....something interesting about Billy Graham worth noting:
I don't know how old you are, but this is the FIRST time in my life that I do not recall the man being present either at inaugurations nor at the WH.

To make sure I was right, I contacted his organization here in NC, and sure enough, he has never met with Jr.

Sick? Maybe...except that he has filled Madison Square Garden and appeared in public since Jr. stole the election.

Infer what you will from that....but, I find it telling.

If so, he bears a great deal of responsibility for dumbya being able to claim christianity and pulling the wool over the sheeple's eyes.

I could be mistaken and it was some lesser known minister.

31. Personally I think the whole "bush isn't smart" thing is BS
He's clever, coniving, and evil. Please don't tell me he's to stupid to understand his actions. He may be to stubborn and close-minded to consider the consequences or his actions. He's been protected all his life from consequences. But don't make excuses for him like him being to dumb. He lives behind that excuse quite comfortably.

34. he is stupid on purpose, making him an evil genius
it is amazing how little people recognize blatant show business when they are being served it on a silver platter.

Bush is a genius in attracting the Bubba vote by acting all down-homey. DEMS could take some clues. He's sheer genius.

lots better than he. He was in the right place at the right time.

Lots of rock stars (the vast majority actually), are phenomenal actors, and their acts are nothing but acting.

If you've ever been in show business or organized religion (which are often one in the same), you would realize this.

I'm just saying SOME of the stupidity is genuine.

45. no personal hatred implied
but from my standpoint, all of the hippies really are in the suburbs decrying all of the problems of the cities from afar (kindof like another group I know). I live in the hood and never see hippies trying to help the old ladies or kids do what they gotta' do that day. Plus, wherever I see hippies, there is a huge pile of garbage from beer cups and discarded nitrous oxide balloons.
