"With every form of perversion and immorality, Vermont leads the way."
Heh. Freepers hate us. They really, really hate us. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside to know my state is a thorn in the side of the wingnuts.

12. Latin has no words for perversion and immorality?
Does that mean Tacitus and Suetonius were making shit up? OR does not having those words mean that they were really freaky? I mean if there are no perversions...

perversion n. s. depravatio f

Personally, I prefer Ovid for refreshed ideas on these subjects. Then I go to Vermont.... :D

22. You actually go to Vermont?
Edited on Sun Mar-26-06 04:11 PM by long_green
(shudder!)
Vermont is a great word. It sounds like a suggestive adjective. "Don't go near him, he is vermont and always has been."

29. "Virginia is for Lovers" did wonders for that state.
"Vermont is for Perverts" could be a winner.

34. Here's a few spins on that.
Vermont is for the virile. Vermont and Viagra go together.
Virginia, NOT for virgins.
Guess I'm not going to make a living thinking up slogans. Oh well.

8. The Gospel Of No Name City
Paint Your Wagon
The Gospel Of No Name City

You wanna see sin of the wickedest kind?
Here it is!
You wanna see virtue left behind?
Here it is!
Sodom was vice
And visa-versa
You wanna say where the vice is worser?
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!

You wanna live life in the rottenest city?
Here it is!
Women and whiskey, night and day?
Here it is!
You wanna embrace the golden calf?
Ankle, and thigh, and upper half?
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!

No name city
No name city
The Lord don't like it here

No name city
No name city
Your reckoning day is near

No name city
No name city
Here's what he's gonna do

God love this town
And swallow it down
And goodbye to you

Will you go to heaven?
Will you go to hell?
Either repent, or fare thee well

God will take care of no name city
Comes the end, and it won't be pretty
Here it is!
I mean, here it is!

Here it is!
I mean, here it is!

Here it is!
I mean, here it is!
Amen!

15. uh, link please?

But yes, Vermont is the high burg of perversion and immorality....phhhhhht hahahahahahaa!

When I drive, the way I know I'm in RedStatia is by all the highway billboards for porn shops, titty bars, liquor stores, gun stores, and sanctimonious cultschurches. And the wrecked and wretched way too many average people look. The way that there is no public space or public life and there's an undertone of suspicion and fear in what little there is. Reading the local newspapers...so much integrity and morality is usually going on that it's all euphemisms.

17. VERMONT?
I can tell none of those idiots has been within 500 miles of Vermont if they're posting that kind of utter rubbish.

Vermont is the Switzerland of the east coast, stolid and wholesome. Vermont is mountains and dairy cows, mom and apple pie.

Just who the hell ARE these people?

My first guess is their aged parents keep them chained down in the cellar or the garage loft.
