1. The victim card is the only thing they have left to play.

Suck it up! The criminals are (hopefully) on their way down.

presidents KNOW that many of these rabid righties like to play the victim. He said that Reagan knew how to handle them.

........that the Abramoff/DeLay partnership was mostly why the GOP gained control in '94.

This very well may be the end of the Republican majority.

I saw someone the other day, who said they were pretty sure the GOP would lose a majority in the house. And the way they said it was like, it was already a done deal!

I'm thinking it was Andrea Mitchell but I'm not sure about that...........

You either have the votes or you don't. Once it became clear that he didn't have the votes and didn't have the muscle to twist any arms, I doubt anyone had to tell him anything more than that.

22. The Abramoff prosecutors, imo
Poor freepers got hit over the head with the Abramoff scandal, because Rush never told them about it. I think there's a good possibility that poor old Tom, like Cunningham, is now cooperating with the Abramoff prosecutors, and may be wired as was Duke.

Had freepers been following it from the beginning, they would have known that the Texas indictment was just the beginning of the end for poor Tom. Being as brazen as he is, he acted as though he was being persecuted, even though he himself knew he was facing much, much worse from the Abramoff affairs. He deceived the freeps, which is easy to do, and eeked out a few more months of hero worship from them, all the while knowing he is a target in the Abramoff affairs.

Had they read what Abramoff and his co-horts thought of freepers and the religious right, this shock would not be so great to them now.

As the emails said 'the wackos (read freepers) get their news from Christian radio, etc. etc.' and outlined how to get their support. Talk about being manipulated and kept ignorant. Ralph Reed, Norquist et al, knew their little freepers well.

Of course, Scanlon was right when he said that and alas, since freepers only listen to Fox, Rush and read fundie Christian right literature, they NEVER heard all this.

Otoh, those of us who WERE following it, were waiting patiently for this very moment, and predicted the reaction of the deliberately kept ignorant slobs over in freeperville! I thought it would never happen! But it has.

I think Tom Delay has been notified that he is now a target in the Abramoff affairs. Since we now know that Cunningham was wired, it's safe to assume that in order to save himself some jailtime,
poor old Tommy may be wired also. At least his fellow Republicans will have to consider that possibility now. So they are dumping him, trying to save their own skins.

Too bad Tom wasn't wired while he bribed and threatened Congressmen and women into voting the way they were told. However, even that may soon be public knowledge as the Aspens all turn and one by one they fall!!

Poor freepers ~ they're still unaware of what is yet to come. Fox won't tell them, nor will Rush, but it's going to be more and more difficult to cover up the incredible unprecedented crimes and corruption of the past ten years or so. I think a few rats from Fox even, may start to jump ship soon, and that will be the final blow for poor freepers who are still clinging to the fabrication that their party had even an iota of integrity.

60. Gingrich!
Or whoever he works for. Yesterday Gingrich made a public statement, and today Delay is gone. (There has to be a "with no Delay" witticism in there somewhere, but right now I'm too fagged to find it.) Remember how fast Gingrich bailed out of there when his own scandals started to get some attention and threatened to distract from the right-wing agenda? These folks are highly disciplined, and they will do damned near anything to hold on to power. Which is what scares me about them, more than any specific thing they've done or said so far.

21. Sadly he is my Congressman
6th district of Indiana. Mucho wingnut. Was in radio before running for congress. Had his own local rightwing radio program for several years. According to his bio on his congressional website: "Mike describes himself as 'a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order'." He comes across as a real lightweight intellectually, but is in an ubersafe republican district.

15. Wow, quite the inferiority complex they have.
Some of them are convinced:
- RW media is powerless against the liberal and main stream media.
- That Democrats have political skills and they just have superior numbers of voters.
- That Delay has done nothing wrong.
- That all of this is due to a Democratic led witch hunt. (Which they have somehow brought about despite Republican control of the House and Senate? )

The amount of self delusion is breathtaking.

but what I really want to know
is what happened to all those little gold hammer pins the Repubs in Congress were wearing just a few weeks ago to show their support for poor, persecuted Tommy. Still attaching them to their lapels every day out of loyalty? Retired the pins to their memory boxes along with all the ticket stubs, polaroids and other fond momentos of golf outings past? Quietly and discreetly flushed them down the loo?

I mean, that's what they always do, right?

And I love how they say that Democrats are just as bad. The Republicans have perfected corruption to an art form. I'm not saying that Democrats are complete angels, but we haven't tortured people, spied on our political enemies, or tried to turn America into a fascist dictatorship. So what they say about our side is pretty laughable.

Its like a big extended inbred family from the swamp who stay connected by posting on that forum

I read so much bull in that thread, the stink is oozing out of my monitor. One guy said one more win for the commies, another said Delay is the kind of rep he loves- corrupt, but effective. Hardly ANY posts mention connections to Jack Abramoff. Hardly any posts mention that Delay could even possibly do any wrong. Most of the posters do not even seem to get that it was members of their own party that removed him from the leadership for good.

Going there is interesting for sure-I have to lower my IQ to about 70 and start drooling or I can not seem to get the meaning of their posts :)

Great. So without a fight, the Republicans let another leader get taken down by a bogus scandal. As far as I'm concerned, the entire Republican party should be fired en masse, not be allowed to re-run for their posts, and have new people compete for the vacated seats. This is just pathetic.

U.S. Congressman John Boehner of Ohio received $32,500 in political contributions from Indian tribes represented by fallen lobbyist Jack Abramoff, placing him in the top tier of lawmakers who got donations from the lobbyist or his clients.

Great. So without a fight, the Republicans let another leader get taken down by a bogus scandal. As far as I'm concerned, the entire Republican party should be fired en masse, not be allowed to re-run for their posts, and have new people compete for the vacated seats. This is just pathetic.

it doesn't matter that abramhoff has pleaded guilty, and is working with the feds. it doesn't matter that cunningham is wearing a wire and taping other repugs. oh hell no it's the evil commies dems fault for bringing it up. where is the "wwjd", how come none of the repugs, well I guess gingrich is trying to cut off the rotting meat, but there are not a lot of them saying that it's wrong.

61. Did it ever occur to some of them...
that the position Tom DeLay is in is Tom DeLay's fault? That maybe, just maybe, he's guilty of the things he's been indicted for?

No. Couldn't be. It must be a Democratic plot to ruin the reputation and career of a solid man of integrity.

62. "GET RID OF THE RINOS!!!!!! Delay should STAY as Leader." (I agree)
To: conservativebabe; Howlin; Buckhead; Txsleuth; kcvl; Alamo-Girl; txgirl4Bush; Redbob; onyx; ...

THIS IS CRAP!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE AND GET RID OF THE RINOS!!!!!! Delay should STAY as Leader.

There were only 15 Republicans signing against him on this leadership post. IT TAKES 60 TO EVEN PUSH IT TO PARTY CONFERENCE!!!!!!

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WILL NO BE RUN BY RINOS....AND CONSERVATIVES WILL HAVE NOBODY TO TURN TO.

DELAY did more for this party and its agenda than anybody...ever!!!!

Every RINO who pushed for this should be voted out of office!!!!!

The minute Delay clears his name.....there needs to be a push to have him voted in as Majority leader again!.

Blunt has already shown himself to be a candyass.

WE SHOULD JUST SELL THE STATE OF N.H. to the french! The Dems and RINOS...which is all that state has...would not mind one bit.
