Now that George W. Bush has given up on Iraq, saying someone else will have to decide what we're going to do, or what will count as "victory," we have to deal with the international consequences of the victory our president has just handed al Qaeda.

Osama bin Laden said he wanted us in Iraq. George W. Bush quoted Osama bin Laden saying that he wanted us in Iraq. The two great butchers of this Lost Decade agreed that the mother of all battles was in Iraq.

And our guy just quit.

This means the only enemy left is you.
