If Bush suddenly "jumps" to 40% approval in a poll...

6. What are they going to say when the first poll shows him in the high 20s?
* polled in the low (34%, 33%) before this wave of third-year-anniversary of the war press coverage. I'm not thinking he's due for a bump up based on that coverage.

9. Oh, he will. The ports issue brought down his numbers and now that
Feingold redirected the focus off this important issue, you can bet that this deal will be forgotten and Bush's rating will go up a couple of points. He is also out there working hard trying to promote the Iraq War, some people are bound to see that as a good move.

something you expect to happen every twenty poll-takings or so. and that's if the methodology is perfect, which it never is.

12. No post-presser boost from Blitzer, Matthews, or Lou Dobbs
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 06:20 PM by DeepModem Mom
in the afternoon TV coverage -- at least, in the segments I caught. There was some commentary characterizing this morning's press conference as Bush's blaming the press for his problems. There was talk of his shameful "straw man" speech device, on view when he asked why Democrats didn't just come out and say they opposed spying on terrorists. There was a question from Chris Matthews regarding whether Bush really believes what he's saying.

I was surprised.

13. Chris Matthews will have to publicly excuse himself...
to visit the restroom for an hour with a picture of Bush in his "flight suit".
