Did anybody just see Candy Crowley?
she and Wolf were discussing the slug emerging from his pupa, or whatever analogy one chooses to describe *'s new, 'unscripted' appearances before crowds and media

throughout the exchange Crowley insisted that he was excellent at his "press conference every day" style of campaigning in 2000, in which he subjected himself to the media and unscripted questioners! is she THAT certain that people don't remember his carefully choreographed appearances then?

she said that he went into a shell after that, and that he's doing VERY well now, that he's going back to his old style!

she really said that, and appears to believe it

what can one say about that level of media supplication?

9. really...have you seen anything as far removed from reality as that
exchange?

The Emperor's New Clothes has never had a clearer real-life analogy than that pathetic farce.

The more I think about it, the more disgusted I become

I'm going to bookmark this thread for when the Xscript comes out. You really won't believe the level of sycophancy; not to mention delusionalism

18. She covered him in the run up to the first election theft
And her fawning knew no bounds. The funniest thing I ever saw was the sight of that lumbering beast hauling her rather considerable ass to get a good position in the gaggle outside the governor's mansion. She ran about twelve feet and it took her that many minutes to catch her breath.

25. Did you know Candy was recently hit by a truck?..........
Ran right in to her on the street in Washington. When asked why he didn't just go around her rather than run into her, the truck driver said...... "I didn't have enough gas."

14. I/m VERY VERY VERY well aware of the fact of the Human Refrigerator's
supplicancy, or whatever

this exchange, however, went FAR FAR FAR beyond the pale.

It really was astonishing

for them to sit there with straight faces and discuss his ease before tough questioners, as well as those nasty media types was just to frickin much

15. Ugh. Bush's "personal" campaiging in 2000 turned voters OFF.
Bush's unscripted, folksy, personal contacts with voters was tried in New Hampshire and McCain killed him. Turns out, the more people see of Bush, the less they like him.

So for South Carolina, they changed the strategy to a) scripted events and speeches b) mass media advertising and c) negative attacks and smears by proxies. It worked great. McCain was blown out of the water.

Same with BUsh's social security tour. The more he talked , the less people liked.

Here's what they are doing: they are thinking that the country doesn't dare look the president in the face and say, "George, you've made a mess of it and you've got to STOP." He's playing brinkmanship, all or nothing.

I just saw an Iraqi man interviewed on CBC last night. He said it doesn't matter if the schools are open. He's afraid to allow his child to go to school because of the violence![/i...He also said many people are afraid to let their children go outside to play!...He said everyday life is hell.

26. Anyone remember Lyndon Johnson saying the same thing about 'Nam?....
It was in about 1966. Johnson gave a speech telling about all the schools, the hospitals, the roads the bridges and other wondreful stuff being built in 'Nam. Sounded like some kind of Disneyworld. It did not matter. Our guys being shipped home in body bags was all that mattered. This AWOL/moron wasn't paying attention.
