Time for plain talk about the Bush regime.
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 04:48 PM by Cleita
This is a short history of the Bush regime and the lies institutionalized by the right wing and President George W. Bush and his Vice President Dick Cheney ever since they took office. It’s all been said before but time to put it all in one place. It’s time to call a spade a spade. Bush/Cheney did not win the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the United States of America in 2000. A legitimate recount was stopped by their operatives who broke the law and got the Supreme Court of the United States involved, although the law is clear that the federal government has no provenance in regard to elections. Since Florida was the main state with voting irregularities, they stopped the recount with the backing of the Supreme Court.

In plain talk, the federal government illegally interfered in a state matter.

Since the Governor of Florida was George W. Bush’s brother Jeb Bush and the Secretary of State, another Republican hack, Katherine Harris, who tried to certify the votes in favor of George W. Bush even before all the precincts had reported in, there definitely was a strong appearance of collusion there. The right way to do it would have been to count all the votes and if that wasn’t conclusive because of all the irregularities and the Palm Beach butterfly ballot debacle, another election should have been held in Florida. They with the help of their buddies in the Supreme Court stopped the will of the people by ignoring the rule of law and stepping over their boundaries.

In plain talk, George W. Bush is an unelected fraud and his circle of operatives broke the law by ignoring the Constitution.

This is the first time we knew the system was broken. It also hinted at the attitude of this new regime. The will of the people, it became increasingly clear, is of no concern to this regime except at fund raisers and campaign stops. Then they tell the voters what they want to hear to keep their power. When they do listen to the people like improving Social Security, getting prescription drugs for seniors and improving education, they make sure there is a way to steal the funds away from those programs to benefit the private companies they divert the funds to.

In plain talk, they are thieves.

9-11 was a tragedy that they are responsible for. Facts are coming to light that they had warnings of this and did nothing. The President was vacationing in Crawford, clearing brush and looking for bugs. The Vice President was in Wyoming shooting his guns, killing birds and getting drunk. When they returned to the White House, memos to the effect that this attack was being planned were ignored. The then Security Advisor, Condaleeza Rice even admitted that she knew about a planned attack in the middle of August 2001, but did nothing because she didn’t want to be swatting flies.

Instead the President and his staff were conveniently out of state in Florida. On the day the terrorists hit the World Trade Center in NYC, the President sat in a classroom with children. When told that one of the towers had been hit, he sat there until the second tower was hit, forty five minutes later. Yet our defense systems couldn’t intercept the terrorists because they needed the command from the President that never came.

In plain talk George W. Bush did nothing when he knew a terrorist attack was eminent in the continental United States of America and nothing when it finally happened.

Then he ordered our armed forces to Afghanistan to get Osama bin Laden and his Al Queda terrorists and Mullah Omar and his Taliban whom his intelligence claimed were behind the 9-11 actions. They knew! How fast was that? To this day Osama bin Laden is missing and Mullah Omar is regrouping his Taliban in Northern Pakistan and the Afghanis are growing opium to help fund him. When Bush was questioned about bin Laden, he said, “I don’t spend much time thinking about him.”

In plain talk, George W. Bush has no concern about getting Osama bin Laden and the Al Queda and bringing them to justice. They served their purpose and are off the hook. They created the bogeyman the Bush regime needed to start their politics of endless war and global domination.

Why? Because we really had to go to Iraq to fight terrorism over there so we don’t have to fight them here. Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, a mushroom cloud, mobile labs, yellow cake from Nigeria, blah, blah, etc. He would sell nukes to the Al Queda terrorists. None of it was true. Saddam kept terrorists of all stripes out of Iraq and had no relation with Osama bin Laden, nor Mullah Omar, whom he both despised.

The weapons of mass destruction were long gone thanks to the United Nations inspectors during the old Bush and Clinton administrations after the first gulf war. It was here that we began to see the criminality in this administration. First they tried to smear the weapon’s inspectors like Scott Ritter who said there were no WMDs in Iraq. Saddam provided them with all his records that filled a room stating he had no weapons of mass destruction. No one in this administration even looked at the evidence and they were mobilizing troops soon afterward.

In plain talk, it was time to raid the candy store. They had a terrified nation backing them and didn’t need no stinking facts to stop them.

So our troops swept into Baghdad, toppled Saddam’s statue, killed Saddam’s sons, took over Saddam’s palaces and prisons and started the wholesale colonization of Iraq for their Commander-in-chief’s own purposes. Now the frenzy of looting Iraq and our treasury began. A complacent or maybe frightened Congress handed Bush/Cheney everything they wanted on a silver platter. Money flowed out of our treasury to fund the Iraqi war, billions and billions of dollars were funneled in to the Iraqi war’s black hole with very little accounting to back what it was being used for.

In plain talk, the Bush regime are the new barbarians at the gate, who invade a country weaker than them, storm in with shock and awe, and then commence looting and pillaging at their leisure both the conquered nation as well as their own nation.

Now the chickens are coming home to roost. First there were the torture revelations, not by Saddam, but by us! Then there is the reducing of veterans benefits. Once they are no longer of any use, our wounded and amputated vets are being thrown to the wolves. Our once proud military is being replaced by private army mercenaries or contractors who aren’t as disciplined or as principled as our regular troops, yet the world only see Americans and everything they do, they do in our name and to our shame. There is the growing list of casualties of American boys and girls who are dying for a sham war, not to mention the thousands of Iraqi civilians including women and children. Oh, it’s collateral damage they say. Is this collateral damage justified, one that gets in the way of thieves who are in a mad money making frenzy?

In plain talk, this war is about wholesale murder to enable wholesale stealing, nothing else.

Next, along comes Cindy Sheehan who dares question the President, who says the war is being fought for a noble cause. She wants to know what the noble cause is because she needs an explanation for what and why her son died. He goes on vacation to Crawford and she follows him and starts an anti-war movement. He goes out of his way to avoid her even cutting his vacation short. Eventually, he shames himself by having her arrested at his State of the Union speech.

In plain talk, George W. Bush is a cardboard cutout coward because he knows his noble cause is theft of the most blatant kind with no thought as to the suffering and damage being caused by this theft.

As if things couldn’t get worse, along comes Hurricane Katrina. While people are trapped and drowning in the gulf states, President Bush attends a birthday party with Senator John McCain, another Republican Party hack, and strums a guitar in a fund raiser in California. While levees broke in New Orleans and people were drowning or starving and dying in the Dome, Bush was oblivious to the suffering going on, while Condaleeza Rice, now Secretary of State, buys $500 shoes and goes to a Broadway play.

In plain talk,President Bush and his entire administration are a gang of criminals raiding our country for their benefit and no thought for their responsibilities to the people they serve or the suffering they cause the people they serve.

However, here was a new opportunity to steal. No-bid contractors are hired to rebuild the gulf states. There is no competition and the contractor of course are those who will make the administration and their supporters richer. In the meantime those states are still in shambles and very little rebuilding is happening from our government.

In plain talk, the Bush administration saw Katrina as an unexpected opportunity to steal even more money from our treasury.

Now every time they and their operatives get an opportunity on the media to be heard they lie. Their lies contradict their lies. It’s been that way since the beginning of the Bush campaign. Now the lies are becoming more blatant and more incoherent, especially from the mouth of the President, whose crazy sentences and goofy posture points to the fact that he seems to be drunk all the time. We already know about the shooting incident in Texas with Dick Cheney that might have involved a beer or two and Rumsfeld, the Secretary of Defense although he can put a sentence together is even more incoherent than the President. He too appears to be buzzed all the time.

In plain talk, our leadership is a bunch of lying drunks, with criminal minds who need to be brought to justice.

I didn’t post any references or links because all of what I said has been documented already on most news sites and on DU. The search function will bring up those threads that address this as well as a Google search on the web. I just wanted to put this in one place to organize my mind and hope you find this helpful. I only put in this piece what is known and documented. I left out all the LIHOP and MIHOP and the suspicions of murders of those who are a danger to the present regime, like the airplane accidents and such and the outing of a CIA agent. I am sure eventually we will get the information and documentation on these suspicions so I will leave them uncommented on until then.

9. This is a keeper.
I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion & skepticism about the almost-weekly fundraisers attended by this administration.

Why do they need an endless pit of money?

For what purpose is the money used?

My guess: Payoffs, payoffs, payoffs.

Why? The media's blind eye. Control over congress. Favorable election outcomes. Who knows what else.

genius - great work!

fact check regarding timeline:

As if things couldn’t get worse, along comes Hurricane Katrina. While people are trapped and drowning in the gulf states, President Bush attends a birthday party with Senator John McCain, another Republican Party hack, and strums a guitar in a fund raiser in California. While levees broke in New Orleans and people were drowning or starving and dying in the Dome, Bush was oblivious to the suffering going on, while Condaleeza Rice, now Secretary of State, buys $500 shoes and goes to a Broadway play.

He went to the fundraiser Monday night in San Diego at the Hotel del Coranado. He strummed guitar the next day, Tuesday, after the levees broke, after Brownie briefed him, while people were drowning, while they were on their rooftops painted to say HELP, he strummed the guitar on board a Navy ship having just given a speech about Iraq. Otherwise perfect.

25. Editing note
because this is such a great piece, you'll want all typos and grammatical errors cleaned up:
an attack was imminent, not eminent.

Also, you should give some plain talk about the voting machines. And if you pull out the lying drunks part, it might help the piece win over the great undecideds.

Again, I only offer this because it is such a great piece. I have attempted such lists before but have never produced anything half as good.

Thanks
