Granholm agrees to abortion regulation
Bill to add ultrasounds to the rules

1. I know with my Aunt,
45 years old, married, GRANDMOTHER, who would have sold her house for an abortion, it would not have meant BEANS.

If you already ARE a mother, you know full well what an EMBRYO (they call ALL stages fetuses) or a Fetus looks like.

2. Erm, unless the state is funding the ultrasounds...
...the only one you'd be hurting financially by requesting one then backing out is the clinic.

3. I mean get the ultrasound but not the abortion --
for uninsured women a free ultas'd is a benefit otherwise unavailable.

4. That won't last and I tell you why...
Suppose you want to know the sex of your kid and you don't have money or better yet know you can get one for free eve if you can afford it? You just need to (1) walk in, say you want an abortion (2) Get to know the sex of the baby and (3) presto you get a few free pictures for your relatives!!! I would get some 3D pictures too... just cause they are free.

5. Not free. The measure just increased the cost of abortion
Now a Michigan woman seeking abortion will have the added cost of paying for the clinic's purchase of ultrasound equipment, the payment of an ultrasound tehnologist and the cost of the actual ultrasound. I'm gonna' guess $300 slapped onto the current cost of abortion. The article doesn't say the state pays for this, nor will the forced-birthers who pushed this through do a thing to raise funds for this. There is nothing good in this measure.

6. I don't think it would be that expensive.

You don't need a top of the line ultrasound machine or need an ultrasound tech to do the job. Any doctor or nurse practitioner at the abortion clinic, if trained by the manufacturer can perform an ultrasound since it is not for diagnostic purposes. Remember, even Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes bought one unit so they could see the baby anytime they want. The idea of adding the US is to discourage girls from having abortions thinking now it is going to cost an arm and a leg but in reality it won't. It might be an inconvenience to get the machine ($$$) but won't be a problem to get one specially if you get the cheaper ones. At the end, GE is the one benefiting from all this since they get to sell more equipment.
