1. it isn't dead
reports of its death are greatly exaggerated

completely totalled houses like this one in the middle of the photo should be bulldozed, the sooner the better, but if people of questionable motives work hard enough, i'm sure they can guarantee that instead of having FEMA do it for free, the homeowner will have to pay $4K a hit for ea. home bulldozed, i would like to understand the motives of "activists" who are trying to stop the clean-up and repair of the ninth ward under the guise of pretending they care about the poor or lower middle class owner, but it's difficult, the cost of their self-promotion ultimately means another huge expense for people who have lost everything and it also means more delay before the ruins can be cleared and new homes built

please don't jump on the bandwagon of trying to prevent homeowners from getting their ruined houses bulldozed for free

while people are trying to block a $4K per benefit to black homeowners in 9th ward, quietly white homeowners who have destroyed homes in other areas are working to get their ruined property removed while the free FEMA bulldozing remains available, and don't think it is easy to get your property condemned either, it isn't, they are bald-facedly trying to claim that totalled houses are not totalled so that the homeowner will pay instead of FEMA or insurance

people are being gamed here bigtime
