O M F G - Have you read this quote from Jerry Falwell's auto-bio?
Just when you didn't think you could hate this douchebag from hell any more. Something new emerges that...well, read on...
(I saw this on www.talkleft.com)

For an extra hoot, check out this paragraph from Falwell's auto-biography about his crazy, cruel father. Your family values at work.

There were times that Dad's pranks bordered on cruelty. One of his oil-company workers, a one-legged man he nicknamed 'Crip' Smith, complained about everything. Dad and Crip's co-workers got tired of the old man's bellyaching and decided to take revenge. One morning Crip called in sick and Dad volunteered to send by lunch to his grateful but suspicious employee. Dad and his chums caught Crip's old black tomcat, killed it, skinned it, and cooked it in the kitchen of one of Dad's little restaurants. They called it squirrel meat and delivered it to Crip on a linen-covered tray. When Crip returned to work the next morning, Dad and his co-conspirators asked him how he liked his meal. They knew he would complain even about a free home-cooked lunch, and when Crip called it "the toughest squirrel meat" he had ever eaten, they were glad to tell him why.

Is there any question how this bastard is as fucked up as he is?

9. Oh, but he acknowledges that it "bordered on cruelty."
It's that kind of minimization that drives me fuckin' batty. If somebody else had done this, you can bet that Falwell's judge and jury would be screaming something about all creatures great and small. But because it was his father that did it, he minimizes it be saying it "bordered" on cruel.

That "trick" didn't border on cruel, it was goddamn sociopathic. Nuts don't fall far from the tree.

14. Falwell's mental illness, pettiness, spite, and cruelty obviously
comes from the paternal side of the family. Unless his mother was a nutcase too. But she was probably one of those typical meek women with the spirit sucked out of her. Someone like her pathetic fat definitely UNCHRISTLIKE son thinks all women should be.

15. That's not "bordering on cruelty"
It crosses for over the line of cruelty. For Falwell use this example and pass it off as just a "prank" that borders on cruelty, is not any sort of Christian I'd follow.

21. So Falwell was raised by a psychopath...oh how surprising (not)...
This is entirely typical of psychopaths. They harm animals and they have no problem nicknaming people with disabilities, "Crip."

What a sick sonofabitch.

For Falwell to categorize this sick behavior as a "prank" that "bordered on cruelty" is quite revealing. BORDERING on cruelty??? This slides way past cruel. It's EVIL. You would think that the dear Reverend would pick up on this!

Damn...I'm so sick of reading about the dysfunctional, sick and psychopathic backgrounds of these Fundie freaks. They're all obviously traumatized children who grow up to destroy and malign this nation--while hiding behind power and religion.

It's so fucking sick. And it's so dangerous. It's lethal beyond measure.

30. The only effect that matters to these sick twisted freaks...
...is that they get in the voting booths and vote for the neocon agenda.

Way back when, these warmongering, neocon, PNAC, fascist scum (sorry, I'm sugar coating it) realized that if they wanted to move forward their agenda--they needed the support of the American people.

So what did they do? They glommed onto the religious, social conservatives--who vote in high numbers and are easily marketed to in their churches.

If they could win the support of the religious Fundies--they could get their agenda elected.

Falwell is just a tool--like Robertson is and Ralph Reed was. They don't give a shit about religion, spirituality, morality or decency. They help the neocons get the flock to the polls.

What a bunch of dummies these low-level Fundies are. While they're voting to ban abortion and end gay marriage--they're being used by warmongering, murdering, psychopathic, evil pieces of trash--to further horrendous crime and the dismantling of our democracy.

Wake up, people!

...By saying "Jesus Christ, I can't believe you did that, dad".

What a cold hearted creep. The man had one leg and Falwell's dad (and his buddies) were sick of his "bellyaching", so they fed him his own cat!
Then they were " glad to tell him" about it the next day!!
I wonder how many "pranks" by this crew involved his fake leg?

Family Values indeed.

32. I always show this stuff to my fundie mother....
Thanks for posting...

My mother is a good person. She is smart. She is 62, and yet she has never thought for herself in her entire life. She was fed garbage and hatred from her parents and from my father (they are still married).

I see it as my duty to enlighten her... and at least once a week I use something I read on the internet to let her know how corrupt the Republicans and many in the Church are. Bless her heart, it's honestly like someone took her out of "Leave it to Beaver". She is so delusional.

There is no hope for my father... he thrives on hating others. My fundie mother can still be "saved" though!

Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 04:48 PM by file83
Well then, I guess the scene from the movie "Fatal Attraction" where Glenn Close's character boils the family pet rabbit was just a "prank" too.

In all actuallity, Falwell's Dad probably suffered from some form of mental disorder. Perhaps even some socio or psychopathic abnormalities.

If that's a "prank", I'd like to see what these psychopaths do when they are really pissed.

Sound like any psychotic families we know?

(Saddam, Uday & Qusay Hussein were a "happy" family too!)

44.  I detest religious fanatics. They are the most destructive groups extant..
If it were not for religious fanatics there would not be a war on terrorism. The fanatic Muslim groups have been killing completely innocent people for many decades now in the name of holy war. It is the primary, most important issue of the current era. Religion is INSTITUTIONALIZED INSANITY, be it Muslim, Christian, whatever. I do not know how the human race can make a break from this insanity. We seem to be going back wards in this regard. I do not understand the attraction these religions have on people and do not have any thoughts on how this most important problem can be solved. It is my belief that the primary reason for these religions is the fear of death. The dominant ones do adhere to a notion of some sort of a so called afterlife. There are exceptions. What do you think about this ? ...Oscar
