How could NBC have not known? Perhaps they are playing with the religious right.

12. Washington Post:Two Stations Won't Air 'Book of Daniel'
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 09:49 PM by cal04
Two Stations Won't Air 'Book of Daniel'

Two television stations are refusing to broadcast a new NBC series about an Episcopal priest who abuses painkillers, has a gay son, a promiscuous straight son, a daughter who deals marijuana, and a wife who drinks too much.

Conservative Christian groups have condemned the depiction of Jesus as blasphemous, accusing the writers of portraying Christ as tolerant of sin in talks with the priest.

NBC affiliates KARK in Little Rock, Ark., and WTWO in Terre Haute, Ind., said sensitivity to viewers led them not to air "The Book of Daniel," which debuts Friday. In Little Rock, the WB affiliate has arranged to show the drama instead.

18. They're right to complain about Jesus being protrayed as
tolerent. We know from our religious right what a first class hater he was.

Maybe the writers of the series are getting him confused with that other person in the Bible who went on about not casting the first stone.

Oh, wait a minute ... that was Jesus, wasn't it?

Oh, well. The right-wing religious crazies are always bitching about something.

36. I hope NBC tells the FBI that FRC is bootlegging their shows
...since the series hasn't run yet, and these whackjobs have already seen it, the only possibe conclusion is that they found a pirated copy of Book of Daniel, has watched it, and is in posession of it... which everybody who sees those warnings on every DVD knows IS A FEDERAL CRIME!

Unless they've never seen it and are talking out of their asses...which is more probable.

I haven't heard of that show before, so I guess that's why. Heh heh. Since "Book of Daniel" is on NBC it gets a lot of coverage for people without cable too. It's so pathetic. I really do live in a country that's so dumb and intolerant.

when the new season starts.

Probably because, like you said, it's on cable (BTW, F/X is owned by Fox). F/X has some of the most brilliant, cutting-edge TV ever — Nip/Tuck, The Shield, and Rescue Me. They're R-rated, too. They do some stuff on Nip/Tuck that I'm amazed they can get by with on basic cable.

Edited to add: It's on DVD too.
