US Peacemaker Tom Fox Murdered in Iraq. ....
This just breaks my heart.

In this undated photo provided by Christian Peacemaker Teams, Tom Fox, seated right, 54, of Clear Brook, Va., is shown. Fox was grabbed at gunpoint in Nov. 2005 with three others off a Baghdad street by the previously unknown Swords of Righteousness Brigades. The FBI verified that a body found in Iraq Friday morning, March 10, 2006 was that of Fox, spokesman Noel Clay said. (AP Photo/Christian Peacemaker Teams Iraq, File)

WASHINGTON - An American who was among four Christian activists kidnapped last year in Iraq has been killed, a State Department spokesman said Friday.

The FBI verified that a body found in Iraq Friday morning was that of Tom Fox, 54, of Clear Brook, Va., spokesman Noel Clay said. He said he had no information on the other three hostages.

Clay said he did not know how Fox was killed but said additional forensics will be done in the United States. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is investigating, he said.

Fox's family has been notified, Clay said, and "our heartfelt condolences go out to them."

From last year..

The Salvador Option
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6802629/site/newsweek /
NEWSWEEK has learned, the Pentagon is intensively debating an option that dates back to a still-secret strategy in the Reagan administrations battle against the leftist guerrilla insurgency in El Salvador in the early 1980s. Then, faced with a losing war against Salvadoran rebels, the U.S. government funded or supported "nationalist" forces that allegedly included so-called death squads directed to hunt down and kill rebel leaders and sympathizers. Eventually the insurgency was quelled, and many U.S. conservatives consider the policy to have been a successdespite the deaths of innocent civilians and the subsequent Iran-Contra arms-for-hostages scandal. (Among the current administration officials who dealt with Central America back then is John Negroponte, who is today the U.S. ambassador to Iraq. Under Reagan, he was ambassador to Honduras.

8. Blessed are the peacemakers.

A prayer by Saint Francis :

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred . . . let me sow love
Where there is injury . . . pardon
Where there is doubt . . . faith
Where there is despair . . .hope
Where there is darkness . . . light
Where there is sadness . . .joy
Divine Master,
grant that i may not so much seek
To be consoled . . .as to console
To be understood . . .as to understand,
To be loved . . . as to love
For it is in giving . . .that we receive,
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
It is in dying . . .that we are born to eternal life

9. I wonder if Rush will have "a part of (him) that likes this"
Nov 29 transcripts, speaking of christian peace activists kidnapped in Iraq:

LIMBAUGH: "s warped as these people are, you know they're going to blame Bush for this. ... They wouldn't have been kidnapped because they wouldn't have been there in the first place if Bush hadn't gone and caused the war and created all these terrorists. I mean, these people are liberals, they're warped. Well, I mean, that's why there's -- I'm telling you, folks, there's a part of me that likes this. Probably, even with this, though, you know, they're not going to see the light of day. They're not going to --"

http://mediamatters.org/items/200511300010

He later says that people will take him out of context...whatever, read the whole transcript, see what this demon goes on to say.

I wonder which child of God Jesus is more proud of this night, this anal-cyst deferring multi-millionaire thrice-divorced oxycontin-doper family values chickenhawk or the peace activist that was just welcomed into heaven.

15. Wow
he really said: "...there's a part of me that likes this"? How can that possibly play well with those of his listeners who are self-professed Christians? I would think it would piss them off royally. Aren't even conservative Christians a part of this group?

17. Freeper christians only focus on the legalistic aspects of the bible.

"How can that possibly play well with those of his listeners who are self-professed Christians?"

Freeper christians only focus on the legalistic aspects of the bible. Thats why they are so fixated on shoving the ten commandments into the public square. Don't you find it odd they are never trying to focus on Christ's sermon on the mount or any other of Christ's teaching for that matter??
They can't bother themselves with Christs teachings; it would cause their whole house of cards to fall down. Mark chapter 7 is a good example of a passage that our hypocrite pharisees of today on the right never hears from their pulpits:

Mark 7 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

Mark 7
Clean and Unclean
1The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus and 2saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were "unclean," that is, unwashed. 3(The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. 4When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.)
5So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, "Why don't your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with 'unclean' hands?"

6He replied, "Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
" 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.' 8You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men."

9And he said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! 10For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' 11But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban' (that is, a gift devoted to God), 12then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. 13Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that."

14Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "

17After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18"Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'? 19For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")

20He went on: "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.' 21For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' "
