15. No, Lee Raymond
He's the godfather of the cynical denial of climate change.

Please click here.

Of course, I doubt that Raymond really will be the new interior secretary, but we should also doubt that whoever is chosen will have his blessing.

I know there has to be a neocon relative just chomping at the bit. If Bush* wasn't afraid of horses he could consider his horse for the job.

Or, maybe, the $150 billion fraud in mining royalties the companies she's protected have perpetrated on the Indians is about to became public.

25. private military contractors at Abu Ghraib
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 11:55 AM by seemslikeadream
were hired by the Interior Department

http://publicintegrity.org/wow/report.aspx?aid=361
When the Center for Public Integrity first published its report on contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan in October 2003, CACI did not appear on any lists of contracts provided by the Army. This may be due to the number of agencies often involved in the contracting process. CACI's work orders, for example, are funded by the Army but were awarded through the Department of the Interior, which used a General Services Administration contract designed for information technology purchases.

"She was among the most outspoken cheerleaders for controversial drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and she repeatedly raised the ire of environmentalists by making it easier -- and faster -- for companies to win permits to explore for resources in public lands, particularly throughout the west."

Interior Secretary Gale Norton is resigning. Someone close to her tells the Denver Post it has nothing to do with the Abramoff investigation. Don't believe it.

32. I agree with him. Griles and several members of the Interior Dept. were
a big part of the Senate hearings on Abramoff, many of them took the 5th Amendment ~ Her assistant, Griles insisted he had nothing to do with Abramoff, but that seems to be in doubt. Abramoff's sentencing is coming up and his lawyer said they'll be 'naming names' ~ looks like Gale is jumping ship, maybe to spend time with the family lawyer!
