Should the state constitution allow the legislature to make laws about abortion?
Wierd. The poll question only comes up after you vote.

| 7. What a poorly worded question, "make laws about abortion" |
|
I'm going to vote no, just because I know which answer they want.

| 8. They must have changed the question. Don't see the word "ban" just the |
|
word "laws". I really don't understand the question as written. The State legislation to make WHAT laws about abortion???

| 10. It's a dumb question, designed to elicit a "Yes". |

*OF COURSE* the state constitution should allow the legislature to make laws regarding abortion. For example, it wouldn't be an unreasonable hinderence to ensure that all professionals providing abortion services be above the age of 18 and have a certain reasonable degree of medical training (so they know which end of the speculum goes in).
But the basic "right" or not to obtain an abortion may be beyond the constitutional grasp of the state legislature.
And note that once you voted, the question changes!
Before:
> Should the state constitution allow the legislature to make laws about abortion?
After:
> Should the state constitution allow the legislature to ban abortions?
A pollster in Tennessee needs to be fired.
