1. It's going to go over as well as the Schiavo fiasco.

People who agree with the "no abortion except for the life of the mother" are outnumbered three to one.

4. A concerted effort

Oh so contrived that Boy Genius Bush places two pro-rapist SCOTUS selections and South Drakota comes out of the gate with an oven mitt Roe vs Wade challenge. I hope that those sinister RNC bastards find lit WMDs under their scheming.

5. Interesting that they start it in a low electoral vote state.

2. I can't tell you how many cranial-rectal GOP inverts who I heard blather
"George Bush will never overturn Roe v. Wade" in the run up to the 2000 election.

Now, maybe those folks are in stone-cold denial, but-- I think this has got to hurt the GOP because THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS ARE PRO CHOICE.

3. Well do you think the GOP is flogging these laws in so many states (see
Maddy McCall's thread) because they feel confident they have the e-voting fraud down, and they don't care about the consequences anymore, as long as they have plausible cover to say "abortion is why the GOP miraculously maintained their majorities in 06 despite awful polling! All those motivated fundie voters!"

7. I dunno. You may be right. All this crap about the "values voter" in 2004
was total bullshit- unless the values voter in question happened to be a Diebold programmer.
