Stars & Stripes letter: In support of Sheehan

Here it is, Hissyspit. :)

Although Mrs. Sheehan has said she would not be involved in a Camp Casey Landstuhl/Ramstein, her presence would have drawn a crowd of supporters, to include the letter writer below, as well as medical technicians from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, at least in spirit based on those I've spoken to.

Today's Stripes letters also "out" some very misguided individuals in our military community, such as the writer of Stay home, `Baghdad Cindy,' who continue to believe, despite what Bush himself has said to the contrary, that Iraq was responsible for 9-11. Fox News, omnipresent on military bases, as well as CNN International, perpetuate this myth, daily.

In support of Sheehan

I support Cindy Sheehan and I don’t support this war.

To all of you who disagree with her or me, please realize that all Sheehan wants to do is make sure not another soldier dies over a senseless war, a war we don’t need to be in, and a war that is based on lies.

She is not another Jane Fonda. She is a woman looking for answers and getting no response. I think many Americans are asking questions and getting no response.

When Sheehan comes to Ramstein and Landstuhl, even if I am at another base, my home is welcome to her with open arms. I’ll be one of the first people out there protesting this so-called war. I’ll be out there with my daughter holding my head and my signs up high!
