When we win back the presidency - my dream list: (please add yours)
a) Sign into law legislation that every single person who has been abused, tortured or forced to undergo mental abuse in Abu Grhaib, Gitmo or any rendition center will have automatic federal jurisdiction to pursue monetary damages from the top officials who are found to have permitted such illegal abuses to take place. The government and any individual organization will be precluded by law from offering to provide legal services, fundraising for any purposes, or any transfer of any assets, whether services, money, credit, or by any other means, to those accused of permitting or ordering the torture to occur. All government entities are barred from indemnifying, defending or providing support in any way to those individuals charged.

b) Every single religious entity which has received any benefit from the faith based initiatives, will undergo a proctological audit, starting with their account books, to their very skivvies analyzing and seeking recovery of even a penny that was improperly accounted for, spent, used for political reasons or connected to any building, meeting room, structure at which any political event ever took place, including the sharing of data, phone calls or mailing of even one letter. If such act occured, that organization shall be sued by the local federal US attorney and stripped of all tax protection, sued for recovery of every penny received, and sued for all costs of the litigation. Individuals involved will be personally sued and if convicted of the slightest abuse or bending of any law, incarcerated for no less than 5 yrs for each offence.

c) Repeal all temporary tax cuts. rekindle all corporate audits and concentrate all IRS resources against anyone making more than $500,000 a year and against any corporation that has paid less than 10% of its gross income in taxes.

d) Stop all drug wars. Period. Legalize marijuana. Period. Cut all funding across the board for all marijuana prosecutions. Issue a blanket pardon, with erasure of all records for anyone convicted of any crime related to pot. Period.

e) Cut all funding to any state which pursues anti-female choice legislation. Period.

f) Cut all funding to any state which pursues anti-gay legislation. period.

g) Remove each and every person from Iraq. Apologize for the death and destruction we caused. Tell them we will return with a rebuilding policy and money in 60 days, only with their invitation, and with their guarantee that their troops will protect our people as we try to rebuild their country with their cooperation and approval.

h) Have a personal conference in Havana, opening all trade, traffic, communications and other contacts. Period.

i) Have a personal conference in Caracas, ditto.

j) Have a personal conference in mexico city, ditto.

9. Good list. May I add:
Prioritizing US signature of the Kyoto Protocol, or even better, the creation of a new and better international treaty regarding environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Legal review of the "Unitary Executive" theory--this cannot be allowed to exist any longer, much less practiced.

I am sure there are others, but I was so caught up in your list that I lost my way, lol.

22. I'm with you. Cow's milk is great for calves. Not humans.
process it, make cheese from it, fine, but as the major liquid provided to kids, which is adulterated with antibiotics, additives and crap?
you are so right.
frankly, water is better.

26. for myself, I can't stomach milch, but fermented and bacterial versions,
I do enjoy. Like women, the more mature, the tastier, with more bite and much more flavorful they are. Most things (except our administration) get better with age.

Then again, I think that potato-based soup, grape-based sauce, and malt-based liquids are god's gift - and I'm an atheist! (Vodka, cognac and wine, and scotch)

Organic milk doesn't have any additives, antibiotics, or synthetic hormones. That's what makes it "organic."

21. Wish List
1. Reinstate the Fairness Doctrine
2. Strip Corporations of their "Person" status.
3. Institute publicly funded elections - no private money period.
4. Eliminate the Electoral College.
5. Make federal elections a national holiday.
6. Design and implement a ballot counting machine that actually works - Scantron comes to mind.
7. Retract all "executive orders" or "signing statements" that were signed by Bush.
8. Set new budget priorities that actually help the citizens of America starting with universal healthcare for all.
9. Reinstate the line separating church and state.
10. Imprison for life Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Condi, Rove, and Libby, for crimes against the US Constitution.
11. Outlaw any legislation that discriminates against women, minorities, gays/lesbians etc.
12. Reaffirm the right to privacy as stated in the Constitution.
13. Make Judge Roberts, Scalito, Janice Rogers Brown, and Priscilla Owens re-do their confirmation hearings.
14. And my dream wish - make Haliburton, Kellogg Brown & Root, Bechtel and the rest of the the corporations who have profited so nicely off the War in Iraq pay for the reconstruction out of their own profits and they can employ all the Bushita koolaid drinkers who thought the war was such a good idea - starting with Limpballs, Hannity, Coulter, and Falafal Guy.

23. Const. amendment outlawing gerrymandering...
I know the constitutional amendment process bypasses the executive branch altogether, it's completely a legislative process. I would love to see one that defines strict and unambiguous mathematical or geometric formulae for the method of drawing congressional districts, so that it will forever be impossible to gerrymander them. The way our system works now, it's not the voters who elect the House, it's the party in power that controls this by the way congressional districts are drawn. This power belongs only in the hands of the people.

29. Here's a personal vendetta:
Outlaw all toxic lawn care chemicals that people use to have an unbroken green carpet in their yards (not to mention golf courses!) instead of a natural variety of species. Don't like dandelions on your lawn? Tough. Protection of the groundwater and the food chain, not to mention avoidance of preventable cancers, is a little more important. Besides, change your thinking a little and the non-grass plants are just as pretty, and often nutritious and useful as medicines.

Just a personal peeve there.

Of course, that's a minor wish. I'd hope for much more all-inclusive and sweeping environmental protection and endangered species legislation.

31. I just realized something. When we win in '08, (not if), we have a
hell of a lot to fix in the country. The tasks are growing more difficult each day.

What I don't understand is if we can see what truly needs to be done so clearly, where the hell are the self-described bLEADERS of the Democratic party?
