Boy Who Taped Teacher on Hannity right now
Hannity is just slobbering over him, telling him that he has just silenced any teacher who has a point of view against the administration.

Wow!! We must really be out of touch when even liberals think teachers should have no opinions. We must be part of the out-of-touch 66%ers who also cannot stand this president.

73. How do you know he's a liberal?
On a call-in radio program, you can call yourself just about anything and get away with it.

Just because someone calls fucking Hannity and says he's a liberal does not mean he really is one, m'kay?

Hannity is so psyched - says that teachers will now think twice before putting out a point of view.

Just what we want - kids taught by teachers who are afraid to analyze situations.

14. my g/f is conflicted at the moment
she's an english teacher, but the social studies teaching position was just eliminated and they want her to do double duty. Now, she's a lefty, so lefty she likes her tin foil hat. She's actually fighting not to teach social studies because she recognizes that she couldn't keep silent and even in offering up the truth, she would be labeled as biased and fired. The woefully inept administrator(R) is bent on her teaching social studies. This is one of those RNC recruited school board member turned administrator that is absolutely wrecking havoc on one of the best schools in the state. she's bummed.

This teacher, I cannot even imagine the hell he is going through right now. Bring along the little Republican Youth Boy too, for good measure.

46. Heck, it looks like we're at the point where the kiddies will be singing
it every morning in school soon. :-(

Here are the lyrics so everyone can start practicin' up:

TOMORROW BELONGS TO ME

The sun on the meadow is summery warm.
The stag in the forest runs free.
But gather together to greet the storm.
Tomorrow belongs to me.

The branch of the linden is leafy and green,
The Rhine gives its gold to the sea.
But somewhere a glory awaits unseen.
Tomorrow belongs to me.

The babe in his cradle is closing his eyes
The blossom embraces the bee.
But soon, says a whisper;
“Arise, arise, Tomorrow belongs to me.”

Oh Fatherland, Fatherland,
Show us the sign
Your children have waited to see.
The morning will come
When the world is mine.
Tomorrow belongs to me!

And then show the tapes to school officials just because your politics dont coincide with the teacher's?

It's basically saying "dont fuck with the Bush administration or bad things will happen to you". Last guy to try something like that was Josef Stalin.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200503040003?show=1

"Radio Host" Bill Cunningham sounds like a major piece of work:

"HANNITY: Well, you know what's amazing? Look, probably it's better that a teacher doesn't have to yell like this in class, but I have no doubt this is a cumulative effort. That's why these kids are taping him. And has been pretty much setting this teacher up to act this way. They are purposefully provoking him and disrupting any opportunity that there might be in that classroom for anybody to learn anything.

And you know, but it's amazing that there is a backlash, Mr. Cunningham. And Bill, there -- parents are saying, "Good, good for this teacher. Finally, somebody is fighting back."

CUNNINGHAM: You know, Sean, how messed up is America today, when patriotism is criticized, and miscreants are applauded.

And I hope the students in New Jersey, the former home of Governor McGreevey, who had his own difficulties -- I might add that Jersey, of course, is a blue state. We don't have these kind of problems in Ohio --"

I heard some of the tape..the teacher did make some comparisons to Hitler but he also told the kids he wasn't calling *asshat in chief*(<--my words) Hitler. He just wanted the kids to think about what is going on with globalization and America's quest for being the leader and spreading freedom and our American ways around the world.

61. Others Here Agree The Teacher Was Wrong Correct?
I missed the original thread if there was one, but I would hope that most would agree that in a classroom setting like that what the teacher did was definitely inappropriate (regardless of our agreement to the viewpoint) and he should've been reprimanded for it. If someone on the right ranted in such a way we would be so up in arms it ain't even funny LOL. Shame the kid can use the teacher's error for a spotlight now though.

Regardless of the teacher crossing the line, Fuck Hannity anyway.

Teachers who show comparisons for their students between the past and the present are teaching. What Hitler did was similar to what Bush said in his State of the Union and is doing.

65. There's More to It
The teacher was ranting at the kids. That's not teaching, that's not sharing opinions, that's shoving them down kids throats.

69. The teacher teaches geography
and the kid was baiting him, pushing him to go off.

The teacher also said that he was not pushing his opinions on anyone, if they were even opinions.

Did you listen to it on Hannity, where he totally took it out of context and just played certain parts??

70. I Must Admit, I Haven't Heard It At All And Will Look For The Audio.
I probably did assume too quickly but from what I read in the article on its face I don't agree with the teacher at all, since if the tide was turned we would be here screaming our heads off and I hate hypocrisy.

But, since I only read the context of the article, I will reserve further statements of judgement until I've heard the words for myself to make a more accurate conclusion with less risk of ignorant assumption. :)

72. Sean Hannity just interviewed the Republican Youth on
Hannity and colmes. He again congratulated the kid, saying that because of what he did, left wing teachers will be very afraid to speak about politics in front of their class.

Sean Hannity hates freedom of speech.

67. My idiot RW brother sent me a link to the audio
My idiot RW brother sent me a link to the audio. I listened to the whole thing and to me, it sounded like he was trying to present all sides. You can hear the little punk say part way through that he's recording it, that's why he was so brave asking questions.

I wish I had a teacher like that.

75. actually who would want to hire the little snitch...???
even the Bush family doesn't like snitches...the hag that revealed Monica Lewinsky to the world was not kept on board when Bush came into office.
