Tweety's Hardball also on at 11PM next week - End of Bow Tie Boy?
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 11:33 AM by RamboLiberal
Interesting - Carlson's show just tanks at 11PM - If Hardball gets decent ratings may this be the end of Bow Tie Boy's show? Oh well, will give me something to watch if either The Daily Show or Steven Colbert are repeats.

Hardball Repeating At 11pm Next Week
"Maybe it's just a coincidence: As President Bush's approval ratings are tanking, Chris Matthews' ratings are surging," TV Guide's Stephen Battaglio writes. "Compared to a year ago, the February audiences for his MSNBC show, Hardball, doubled at 5 pm/ET, and the repeat at 7 was up significantly as well. If that's too early for you, Hardball is getting a special repeat airing at 11 pm the week of March 6."

Battaglio asked Matthews if he has any special plans for the 2006 elections. "We're going to do town meetings," the Hardball host explains...

This is how bad it is for Bow Tie Boy in viewers. This is from mediabistro for Tuesday. At 7 Tweety had 477,000 viewers and KO 412,000 at 8. Bowtie can't even beat the Showbiz repeat. In the prize 25-54 Demo Bowtie had only 68,000 viewers - can you say Dennis Miller and the Chimp?
11pm: O'Reilly: 1,296,000 / Cooper: 343,000 / Situation: 151,000 / Showbiz repeat: 212,000

2. Carlson just stinks!
I've tried to watch him out of curiosity but he is so bad he is not even worth laughing at.
I turned him on last night just in time to see him deny that his father's connection to Libby would in any way color his opinion. Yeah right. He had a real cute little angry look. Scooter would be proud.

10. Stinks is a euphemism
Tucker the fucker is beyond pathetic. He should have left after John Stewart destroyed him publicly on live TV last year.

3. Glad to see Tucker gone, if he really is.
Now they can get rid of that Rita babe and the line up will be better. Maybe they can try to get Donahue, Moyers, or maybe Arron Brown.

4. Guess the only downside is, there goes one of Rachel Maddow's gigs.
But I'm sure she'll recover! :)

15. Really a dumb MSNBC move to only have Ms. Maddow at 11pm
MSNBC never has her on at any other hour, only the hour her target audience would be watching the Daily Show/Colbert combo.

The Full Disclosure Tucker Carlson Isn't Making

Arianna Huffington

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/arianna-huffington/the-full-disclosure-tucke_b_16530.html

Ever since Scooter Libby was indicted, Tucker Carlson has had a lot to say about the central players in the legal drama, Libby and Patrick Fitzgerald. On his MSNBC show and on his blog, he's been unfailingly supportive of Libby and critical of Fitzgerald.

But when it came to Libby, Carlson's had nothing but love, castigating the White House for telling staffers not to talk to Libby in the wake of his indictment: "It is so offensive to me... not only is this morally wrong -- this is a guy who devoted his whole life to the vice president. He's got little kids. He worked 18 hours every day for five years."

But with all he's had to say about the case, there is one thing that Tucker Carlson has failed to mention: That his father, Richard Carlson, is on the advisory committee of the Libby Legal Defense Trust, the GOP-heavy-hitter-laden group that has so far raised $2 million. Indeed, Richard Carlson was the Early Money Is Like Yeast of Libby defense fund-raisers, having couriered a check to Libby's home the morning he was indicted.

And Tucker Carlson's connection to Libby's defense fund isn't just familial. A quick scan of the Libby website shows that Scooter's high-powered pals appreciate the things that Richard's boy is saying. In a section titled "What You Aren't Hearing About Scooter Libby," a cobbled version of Tucker Carlson's "What the hell is this investigation about" quote is prominently displayed, just under pro-Libby blurbs from President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

Why don't they repeat KO? Why only Tweety, Abrams, and Scarborough?

11. Yep - KO repeats for me at Midnight EST
And that's when I usually catch the show since I come home late. Actually I don't mind having a repeat of Tweety at 11 - if I see on DU something interesting happened on the show or there was a good guest(s) it gives me a chance to watch or tape it.

9. Bow Tie Boy Was Too Cool For The Room
Putting the idiotic things this sockpuppet utters, the entire show from a content and marketing point has been a complete zero.

First, Bowtie Boy truly is impressed with his knowledge...but that's a bad thing when it comes to the Faux Noise goons...they don't like knowledge, they like opinions...especially their own. They don't want to have to connect dots or think too hard on something that gets in the way of their hate or scorn...Bowtie boy was just too much of a "Yuppie" for the "Nascar" 6-packers who would drift into his little treehouse following Joey the Internist. The wingnuts would rather watch a repeat of O'Reilly than anything Bowtie boy had to offer.

The real problem was his time slot. He was at the very end of the spin cycle...by the time he got to the story it had been spun to death by everyone else from Rush to InSannity to O'Reilly and he didn't add anything to the party.

Now he'll go back to the hit-and-run pundit game...taking those network checks to play right wing sockpuppet on other shows. Hell, it took Pat Buchannan 20 years to get to this point...Bowtie boy will set the new Olympic Record.

12. Why does Tweety need to be on 3 times a day?
He is on at 5 pm, 7 pm, and now they are going to put him on at 11 pm?

Maybe they can do what O'Reilly said and put Donahue in one of those slots. They can also give the show to Rachael Maddow, and then we all woke up.

These so-called news channels need to get rid of all of these opinion and tabloid type shows. I hardly watch them anymore, unless there is big news.
