The Kennedys. MLK. Wellstone.
That's four great Dem leaders who died in their prime.

The world would be a different place today if any, or all of them had survivied.

John and Robert would have been around to lead the party at least until now.

MLK? He's still a leader of masses of people.

Wellstone would be running for president, maybe again.

The Dems have had some great leaders. Too bad they didn't make it this far. Instead, Raygun and the bushes took the place of our great leaders.

No wonder this country is in such bad shape.

2. The Kennedys. MLK. Wellstone.
As long as they keep killing Democratic leaders, people are going to be loath to stand up and become a leader. It's the ultimate form of intimidation. I don't know how to stop them from doing it though.
Maybe insist on better investigations into suspicious deaths.

3. Welcome to DU, shellinaya! Here's a start...
George Herbert Walker Bush told the FBI he had a suspect in mind, less than an hour after JFK was assassinated.

Why the heck didn't Poppy mention the guy before the assassination?

And what was Poppy doing in Dallas on November 22, 1963?

Details here:

5. I've often wondered....
after the wave of assassinations of leading liberal voices in the 1960s, how many of our greatest potential leaders decided to go somewhere else besides politics, believing that if they ever got into position to make a significant difference, they would just be the next to be murdered.
