My sentiments about Coulter exactly: $he $ee$ $$$ in outrageou$ne$$
She doesn't believe what she says. She probably doesn't believe anything at all except in keeping the chardonnay flowing and dough rolling in. From Supreme Court clerk to clown in 15 years. Very impre$$ive:

The She-Pundit Strikes Again

The she-pundit with long blond hair gave another inflammatory speech last night, this time at Indiana University. As usual, it was filled with insults, such as calling one student "gay boy" and referring to Iraqis as "brown boys."

One comment that drew strong audience reactions came from a young man who asked her if she didn't like Democrats, wouldn't it just be better to have a dictatorship? Coulter responded with a jab at the way the student talked.

"You don't want the Republicans in power, does that mean you want a dictatorship, gay boy?" she said.

Some more Coulterisms:

* She claimed liberals "hate God and hate America,"

* She said that Democrats don't want democracy to succeed in Iraq. She said, "They don't think the little brown boys could handle democracy," to which students responded, "We don't tolerate racism here. Go back to Germany."

* She did, however, say there was a need for stations such as "Air America," which she claims has only 200 listeners. "We need these liberal talk radio shows to keep the tinfoil-hat types busy while we run the country, democratize the Middle East and secure our borders," she said.

I don't think she believes a word she says. She's discovered that the money tree blossoms the more outrageous she becomes -- both for book sales and lecture fees. She's always wanted fame as well as fortune, and notoriety has become an acceptable substitute. It's best not to take her seriously, as she journeys down the ladder from the perch she used to think she occupied, that of "constitutional scholar," to that of national laughing-stock.

She's not stupid. Surely she knows that no one is discussing her ideas, only her persona. We should treat her like the caricature she willingly has become.

1. Agree. She knows people pay to see her farce. Go figure. Much to do
about nothing, imo.

3. Race Baiting going mainstream
Have you noticed that race baiting has gone more mainstream as of late? It's very worrisome to say the least. And of course the whole immigration thing plays directly into the same hands. Just wonder if such a racket would have been made if blond Canadians were the ones crossing our borders in droves instead of folks blessed with stronger pigmentation. Granted, those Canadians do say the word, "about" funny, and seem to care a little TOO much about hockey, but...

4. She claims to be a Christian, I believe
Perhaps it might behoove her to read and mull over these words of Jesus: What good is it for a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul?

She doesn't realize that by spewing hatred for whatever reason, she is, in reality, damaging herself far more than any of those she is detracting.

6. It's the only way anyone will pay attention to her....
and she craves that more than anything, even money, in my opinion. She's always complaining that she can't find a good man. Well, no GOOD man would have her. She's destined to die a lonely, old, anorexic hag, much like her present situation taken to an exponential degree.

8. Ann is mentally ill and her "friends" won't help
Instead they encourage and reward this self destructive behavior. I have a hard time feeling sorry for her becasue she started the hate obsession when she still could have kept reason and control.

Very few on the right wing seem to see a need to speak up and say "This is un-American, this is not what we stand for, Ann does not speak for us". Yet, Democrats are challenged to denounce every radical statement that gets quoted (Huffington pointed this out last week).

Coulter is the Fred Phelps of hate speech.

9. She constantly has to outo herself
In order to continue to get attention, bookings, sell manuscripts etc. she has to be more outrageous than she was before. But there's a problem. She has strained the outer boundaries of crdedibility even for those who may agree with her basic premise. Once she's lost that she becomes a caricature of herself, a freakshow. The only way to recapture the attention and affection of her former followers is to become more and more hysterical hopefully leading to an on air meltdown, or a chemical overdose of some sort. I prefer the latter although I'm disappointed it has taken this long.

10. I believe we shouldn't discuss her at all.
Reading about her "gay boy" comment, it struck me that a large portion of her audience is probably protestors, or people who are just curious to see this woman, this freak. And she needs such people to be present in order to prop up her persona. If nobody stood up and challenged her she would be left without the opportunities for comments which compel the media attention she currently enjoys. In other words, she thrives on our opposition. If we ignore her, she is forced to preach to the choir. The choir finds that SO uninspiring! Ignore the woman, and she just might slink away.

16. No! Don't ingnore her- that's what the Germans people did
while the Nazi party was murdering millions. How do you think they got away with a genocide on such a massive scale? It is a greater evil to ignore and do nothing about evil in my book. It's important that good folks keep tabs on a woman like this: just like keeping tabs on a hungry wild animal, except of course, she's much more dangerous.

17. You're right.
Probably 2000 of the 2500 were liberals or people expecting a confrontation. Universities would not hire her if she only drew 500 for an audience.

Same with TV shows, people call to complain about her and that lets the networks know people watch her.

13. More Fame Than Anything Else
I remember poor little Annie Coultergeist in her early days on the Geraldo show crying how she had suffered tremendous economic difficulties for her political views. Bet you won't hear that out of her or her accountant today.

Yep...the outrageous bullshit generates the headlines, the interviews, the speaking tours. If Coultergeist were a genuine "ideologue" she would have been drowned out by drones with far better intellgence...so her shtick was to push the racist, sexist, biggoted buttons in the wingnuts for fame and profit.

How interesting she appears at a universities all the time...consider how David Horowitz considers them to be such cesspools of liberalism.

The only thing that exceedes their hypocrisy is their greed.

14. Who the fuck in their right mind invites her to lecture?
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 07:44 PM by ismnotwasm
I can't imagine a bigger waste of any Univerisity's time or money. If they want to present a Conservative viewpoint, surely they can come up with someone more informative and interesting not to mention qualified. I'm sure she doesn't come cheap, and she offers nothing in return. Other than a lot of opportunity for bad jokes

I keep waiting for this woman to go away, and everytime I turn around she pops up like a pimple on my butt.

"Gay boy? Brown boy?" Pleeease. As opposed to what? Trailer ridin' Chicken floppin' redneck peckerwoood?

I agree, she is the ultimate cynic and doesn't believe in a goddam thing but the money she makes. And no doubt thinks that's just fine.

These things have a way of coming home to roost, however. The Karma God's gonna get her one of these days......I hope it's enough to deeply embarress her, since she doesn't seem to have the normal mechanisms for embarressment. Otherwise she would have crawled away a long time ago.

19. There's one thing you can't complain about with her, either.
She practices truth in advertising.

Take that book of hers called "Treason." Open it up, and what do you find inside?

Then she has a book called "Slander." Open it up, and what do you find? (Well, OK, technically it's libel, but let's not get too picky.)

Anyway, you can't say she just promises and doesn't deliver.
