Coulter and Hannity--Mention This on Your Shows (if you have the huevos)
Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 05:16 PM by texastoast
I work surrounded by Bushbots (or so I thought). Today, THEY brought up the subject of the port outsourcing. We, divided politically as we are, were able to have a productive conversation about how much we love America and how much more we love America than we do the current administration.

May I quote:

"I'm never going to vote for another Bush again. Jeb can run. I won't vote for him. I've had enough. (Toast), you were right. If Bush's mouth is moving, he is lying."

"I think Bush is just setting himself up for when he leaves office. At taxpayers' expense."

"I won't vote for anyone who has been tight with the people in office now."

"He crossed the line with this one. I'm done."

Take it to your leader, you talking head pustules. The pendulum doth swing.

:toast:

1. Thanks for posting this.
I just LOVE reading these kinds of exchanges. It may be 'anecdotal evidence' that this Regime is losing its former supporters -- but it's evidence nonetheless.

I am feeling hopeful that the tide has truly turned now - and when the tidal wave hits this Administration full-on, there will be nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. (Or maybe they can just rely on FEMA!)

3. I am astounded
It wouldn't be such a big deal but these people were locksteppers. Right-wingers and "Christians" all the way.

13. I was talking with a friend today
and he said that it's being blown out of proportion - that we need to remember ALL the west coast ports are run by the Chinese. True?

2. Sad that this is the straw that broke the camels back
and not something...like...say the Downing Streeet Memo!

or Katrina!

or the Patriot Act!

or No Child Left Behind!

...

4. I guess it had to be a lot of stuff first
But tolerance goes only so far.

I think it speaks of the fact that Americans are very afraid after 9/11, and the misplaced idea that "Bush is keeping us safe" went a long way with many.

To turn the ports over to a corporate entity from a mistrusted country was that straw you mention. The fear factor is still very, very real.

5. The very reason why this straw broke it is fear
That's the part that upsets me. There have been so many reasons other than fear of a mistrusted country to dislike this adminstration...

7. True.
But THIS is the trap the Neo-Cons unwittingly set for themselves via the hate-mongering against Muslims and Arabs. God, it's inconceivable that they could be THIS STUPID - but that's fine with me.

As for all of the other stuff you've cited, fear not -- once this administration is outta here, EVERYTHING will be looked at again in a new light.

If I were a Republican up for re-election this year, I'd save myself the last-minute rush and start packing up my office now ...

6. Sorry, but I just don't buy it anymore

We have seen a lot anecdotal evidence before, low poll numbers etc.
But when it comes to voting people forget all this and vote for "their" guy, or against "the other " guy. (It's not just the freepers: how many time you made New Year resolutions you didn't keep? How many DUers said in October 04: If Chimpy wins, I'll move to Canada?)

I really wish it were true, all the sheeple suddenly seeing the light, but I don;t think it is.
Sorry to be a party pooper...

8. You might be right
Hope keeps me going. But I'm just freaking amazed that I would EVER hear these words out of these particular people's mouths.

11. Disappointed or amazed
by how much people are willing to overlook? Amazed that the same people who would have relished the disembowelment of Clinton for trysting in the White House are willing to tolerate the sacrifice of their children for a war based on lies, take money away from education lower- and middle-class kids, and delve deeply into a national debt financed largely by a Communist country?
