The 21 Feb 06 Edition of Most Brain Dead Letters To The Editor
Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 12:55 AM by MrScorpio
Welcome to the Tuesday, 21 Feb Edition of the Most Brain Dead Letters To The Editor

To everyone, thanks for the tremendous response that I've received to my idea. I'm glad that you love it. Please keep PMing me the links of your favorite letters. For the sake of not being repetitive, I'll only feature letters from PMs. If you want to add a letter to a thread, go right ahead.

Let's get started.

Thanks to DUer Synnical for finding this letter straight from Florida (America's Penis) reinforcing the belief that the Republicans are GOD'S OWN PARTY and we're not (Except for Bobby Byrd of course)

From the South Florida Sun-Sentinal, comes a letter from Susan Frandsen of Plantation Florida... From God's mouth to her pen, baby!

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/opinion/letters/sfl-brmail780xfeb15,0,7956675.story?coll=sfla-news-letters

Democrats are out of mainstream

This is dedicated to the those wonderful people who inspire us all by not only being incredibly stupid but also display their stupidity for all of us to gaze and wonder upon, in the LTTE sections of today's newspapers.

I have point out that they really go out of their way to give us a piece of their mind.

I followed the Judge Alito Supreme Court nomination hearings. It is terrible that a highly qualified, respected, hard-working, extremely intelligent man who loves his country and believes in the U.S. Constitution was lied about by the Democrats. There are so many people who supported Judge Alito, but the Democrats didn't care about that.

I have figured out what the real problem is with the Democrat Party today. Senators like Schumer, Kennedy, Kohl and Clinton care about their party base -- people who believe in abortion more than anything else. The Democratic Party has become the party that supports death: death of babies, right to die in Oregon by suicide, death of Terri Schiavo.

The Democratic Party is outside of mainstream thinking today. The Democratic Party still has some good people like Sen. Byrd who believe in the traditional Christian values that our country was founded on. But Sen. Byrd is fighting a losing battle without the support of his colleagues.

Judge Alito is all that we should ask for and expect from a judge. I feel sorry for the good Democrats left in the Democratic Party.

Susan Frandsen
Plantation

Ed. Sue, about all of those "good" Dems that left the party and went over to the other side... You're not talking about the DIXIECRATS, are you?

We're goddamned glad they left... They were stinking up the joint! Since then, the Democratic Party base has changed from just the good ol' boys to EVERYONE ELSE WHO CARES ABOUT FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY

Fair exchange, I think!

And about any accusation that some Republican(s) lied... How can we Dems make that claim?

Because we saw their mouths moving,

Next!

Here come a letter from a guy that sounds like he has a day job as a professional internet troll.

Something about this letter just smacks of trollocity.

You be the judge.

Again from the land of sunshine serial killers comes Thomas R. Meachem of Daytona Beach, Florida

http://www.news-journalonline.com/opinion.htm#letters

Press attacks on Cheney invasive

I think the harassment of Vice President Dick Cheney by the press concerning the accidental shooting incident was as disgusting as was the harassment of President Bill Clinton over a personal, sexual incident.

I am not a fan of this administration, but I deplore this personal attack on the vice president at what must have been a horrible personal time for him. If it had been other than an accident, I could understand the urgency of getting it out, but as it appears to have been a sickening accident among a group of friends, I think the attacks were invasive and terrible, at a time when all concerned must have wished to be let alone to deal with the situation and pray for their friend who was wounded.

THOMAS R. MEACHEM

Daytona Beach

Ed. You know, Tom, all you have are crocodile tears here. Stop picking on the VP... BOO-HOO! Yeah right. Lookee hear, Dude. Cheney is the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND HE SHOT A GUY WITH A SHOTGUN! He fucked up and that's BIG FUCKIN' NEWS!

And from what I see, compared to what happened to the Clintons for eight years and beyond, Dick is getting off easy. (Pun intended)

So whenever Dick pops off prematurely and hurts someone in the mix (expert sycophant, or not), I think that we should all know (And get a few laughs as well)

P.S., if you ever end up on DU, I've got your number, buddy!

Next!

From the same letters page, comes a letter from someone who's obviously not getting any. Probably NEVER got any!

From the No Fun Zone of Palm Coast, Florida is Judith Carrig.

'Adult' entertainment?

Why do people refer to strip clubs, porn shops, porn movies, etc., as "adult" entertainment? There is nothing adult about these types of establishments, other than that the customers have reached a certain age and can patronize such places. Their minds are still on "hold" in puberty, or they are just sick.

They'd get more for their money if they'd go to a therapist to find out why there's a need to demoralize themselves. Better yet, they'd find the real answer if they saw a clergyman.

These so-called businesses would be politically correct if the "adult" word would be changed to "disgusting," "immoral," "disturbing" or "perverted" entertainment.

The proprietors are doing nothing more than making money and using freedom of speech as an excuse. "Freedom" is a word of integrity, and there's no integrity in cash for nudity.

I'm glad Flagler County is fighting to keep places like Liquid on State Road A1A out of parts of the community not zoned for them. Our children are exposed to enough inappropriate behavior as it is. No, they won't be allowed in there, but their adult parents will be.

JUDITH CARRIG

Palm Coast

Ed. Judith, I have some news for you, right now in Palm Coast, perhaps some of your very neighbors... SOMEONE IS HAVING SEX!

Sure, sure, I know that you aren't, can't or won't... But please, let the rest of us adults have our fun! OK?

Loosen up that chastity belt of yours, will ya? I bet it's chafing and making you cranky.

Next!

I want EVERYBODY to give a BIG UP to DUer Harald Ragnarsson for pointing me to what has to be the most insane and braindead collection of LTTEs on the face of the planet, the OMAHA WORLD HERALD. You just have too see these.

They are a hoot!

Hagel has lost support

In regard to the Feb. 19 news story, "While Hagel idles, rivals rev engines," I don't believe there would be a great deal of support here if U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel decided to make a run for president.

He is really an independent who has failed to fully support the Bush administration's conduct of its vital war against terrorists. He often is quoted by Democrats in support of their daily criticisms.

As stated in the Pulse before, Sen. Hagel has denied Nebraska its full Republican senatorial support. He should register as an independent.
Edward A. Donahoe, Omaha

Hagel's pipe dream

Sen. Chuck Hagel had better hope he wins the vice-presidential spot or a Cabinet position. Not only will he fail to win the presidency, but he also won't win re-election to the Senate here in Nebraska.

As a lifelong Republican, I have not decided whether I will vote for his opponent or simply not vote when Sen. Hagel is up for re-election.

I am not the only one who has taken this position out here in western Nebraska. Many of us believe that Sen. Hagel is nothing more than a "RINO" (Republican in name only).

Maybe he should consider moving and running for the Senate from Rhode Island.
Kirk Livingston, North Platte, Neb.

Shortsighted views

This is in regard to Chris Peters' Feb. 15 letter advocating the impeachment of President Bush.

I guess Mr. Peters was so busy with his thoughts that he missed the Feb. 13 news story about Georges Sada, a former adviser to Saddam Hussein and a former top Iraqi Air Force official who is now a national security adviser to the Iraqi government.

Sada, who spoke in Omaha on Feb. 12, said Saddam moved weapons of mass destruction via truck and plane into Syria in 2002 under the guise of humanitarian aid.

A lot of people in the United States want to tie the hands of the Bush administration. When terrorist sleeper cells start to tear apart our homes and cities, then they will say, "Well, the Bush administration didn't do enough to protect us." They will say, "Hang him, impeach him, as he did not do a thing to protect us."

When the snakes from foreign countries come here and blow up our skyscrapers, go talk to the Bush critics.
Martin E. Rasch Jr., Omaha

In the name of Fido

I have read numerous news stories lately regarding animal cruelty and people prosecuted for such. Now there's intervention of legislation at the state level that would ban the use of bullhooks with elephants.

I've never known there were so many animal activists here in Nebraska. Some people are so zealous regarding animals that it is disturbing.

There are jail sentences for animal cruelty, not to mention thousands of dollars in fines in defense of Fido.

I have a question for the friends of Fido. Where is the same firebrand zeal for the more than 40 million unborn children lost to abortion in America since 1973?

The silence is deafening.
Dennis M. Duffy Sr., Papillion

Upon returning from a recent trip, I found a notice in my luggage indicating it had been inspected.

I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is the fact that the reverse side of the paper was printed in Spanish.

Using taxpayer money to single out one current immigrant group in America over another is discriminatory. It is as abhorrent as singling out Japanese-Americans during World War II, Arab-Americans today or African-Americans forever.

Spanish-speaking immigrants are smart. They can learn English. Governmental agencies should stop implying that they can't by singling them out with Spanish signs, notices and novels.

Using a common language to unify disparate groups in America is vital. We do not have the resources to accommodate every language of the globe on every public sign, government notice or novels stocked by our libraries.
Jennifer Duncan, Omaha

Koterba nailed it

Kudos! Huzzah! Well done, Jeff Koterba, for the right-on-the-money political cartoon (Feb. 17) of Al Gore dirtying Uncle Sam with a rifle labeled "Saudi Speech" and the caption, "I meant to do that!!"

Gore did make a very strange speech in Saudi Arabia, and one does wonder why. A smart politician can attack President Bush without attacking Uncle Sam.

Yes, this one is for the Pulitzer. Thanks, Jeff.
Allen O'Donnell, Wayne, Neb.

Ed. That right there is proof of why I should never move to Omaha.

I'm making that paper a daily feature.

Now, the voice of reason and sanity from our LTTE HERO OF THE DAY comes from USA TODAY. Please heed the words of Mr. Michael R. Smith of New Orleans, Louisiana

http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20060221/letlede21.art.htm

Magnitude of Katrina disaster demands help

Once again, USA TODAY features “blame the victims” letters and more excuses as to why our federal government and President Bush shouldn't have to do anything to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina (“Reliance on government stalls rebuilding”; “Don't rebuild New Orleans,” Wednesday).

Anyone who compares Hurricane Katrina's disaster to the 1900 hurricane in Galveston, Texas, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake or the 1871 Chicago fire doesn't understand that more than 90,000 square miles were destroyed, millions of families stripped of all resources, hundreds of thousands of children left without schools, and more than 400,000 people displaced because a federal levee system failed to meet its own standards.

If New Orleans shouldn't be rebuilt because of its geographic characteristics, well, that's bad news for people in the California earthquake regions, New York City by the Atlantic and the tornado alley of the Midwest.

I have watched hundreds of my neighbors remove debris themselves, tear down their own houses, live in tents and campers, and suffer the air and water in an effort to rebuild.

Frankly, I never expected President Bush to take care of anything except the oil companies.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room: Bush apologists, I believe, view Katrina victims as lazy minorities who don't work or pay taxes and are hitting the jackpot on federal aid. The idea that people should pick up shovels and remove 90,000 square miles of debris themselves is ludicrous. In Bush's State of the Union address, he seemed to reduce the Katrina disaster to an issue of “debris.” Evidently many of his followers fell for that spin.

I've paid more than $1 million in federal taxes during my lifetime, and I feel better about our government helping our own taxpaying disaster victims than I do about obliterating then rebuilding Iraq for reasons based on “flawed intelligence” to the tune of more than $300 billion — a fraction of the Katrina bill.

The federal role in the Katrina disaster is a little more complex than “debris” and “those people” who sit and “wait.”

Michael R. Smith

New Orleans

Ed. Amen, Mr. Smith. Truer words have never been spoken.

That's all I have for today. Of course, there will be plenty for tomorrow. and remember to keep those PMs coming!

Anyways, with the exception of Mr. Smith, as always thanks to all of our idiot letter writers, you are an inspiration to us all. :yourock:

Here's a toast to your dead brains, Fuckheads. :toast:

Ciao!

2. Those letters (with the exception of the last one) make my
head spin. Once again, I have to say that the willful ignorance, stupidity, and obtuseness of these people is beyond comprehension. :puke:

Thanks, MrS, for another installment of LTTE's illustrating the asshats that inhabit this country.

3. Glad you got to sample what passes for intelligent comment here!
These were rather eloquent for Public Pulse writers. I swear, some of them have no idea what's going on in the world outside of what Rush says.

Omaha is pretty liberal compared to the rest of the state. Where I live, they seem to think I actually know Osama Bin Laden since I don't support the war OR the Greatest President that Ever Lived, George W Bush.

Oddly enough, whe3n I ask them what he has done good since he's been in they can't answer and get all pissy. I can't talk about current events at all, work or play. When you do try to make them see the error of their ways, they literally plug their ears and yell shut up, just like o'Reilly and that one female pundit that seems to think plugging your ears and going "la la la I can't hear you!" is reasonable debate.

At this point, I'm all for splitting up the country and giving these freaks half if they jsut stay away from us. There is no reasoning or talking to them. They don't care about anyone and anything but Bush and republican party.

5. Well, I guess one brain out of ten isn't bad. LOL?
Thank God for Michael R. Smith. He truly is the LTTE hero of the day.
Wonderful letter. So good to read the truth.

As for the rest of the letter writers, my guess is, there are a number of future Darwin award winners among the group.

Thank you MrScorpio for my daily dose of nuts! :yourock:
