"The Guy James Show" is returning very soon!! Please keep kicked!

The new studio is nearly completed, the equipment is ordered, and as soon as everything is installed and tested the show will begin. Plans are to stream the show live Monday thru Friday from 3 to 5pm eastern and expand it to 3 to 6pm in short order.

This has been a big undertaking and all of us at "The Guy James Show" want to thank those of you who have helped make this possible.

We'll have an official announcement up on www.theguyjamesshow.com the first of the week. We wanted to let DU'ers know first.

Just streaming for now? Does this make your operation a bit more cost effective than 'airwaves'. Do you have plans to syndicate?

Yes, it should be more cost effective. At least on paper. Our cost per listner should drop because of not having to buy air time. However, because of the increased hours some of our costs will increase. We hope listeners will support the show if we keep up our end of the bargain and provide good programming for our Liberal, Progressive, Democratic listeners. We will be aiming to talk to folks "on the bubble" too. Can't forget them because they may swing the election.

Frankly, I don't know the geographic location that differs in time the way you describe. Greenland?

Oregon. I just went the wrong way with my 3 hours. It happens too frequently, lol. I don't know my right from my left, either. And I'm the only person I know who prefers daylight savings time, and the spring time change, to standard time and "falling back."

Turning my 3 hours the right direction, that will the show on at noon, which lets me out other than weekends or summers. Still, I'm glad to hear you'll be back on the air, and I can pick up the archives.

28. Head to head against Randi Rhodes? Gulp...

I love your show Guy, but I love Randi too. Personally I'd think it would be more prudent to fill in the AAR gaps than to go head to head against their most successful pro.

Nothing against ya, I want you to succeed and think you can, but maybe late night (after Malloy) weekends or against Franken would be a better bet for starters.

Again, I wish you nothing but success. I'd love to see you and Randi competing for tops in that slot, and the next 50 truth tellers to come.

30. I carefully considered your point.

I came to the conclusion that I needed to have a slot that fits me and my style. As for going head to head with Randi, I'll just have to take my chances. Anyone who knows me well knows that I love a challenge and will work like a madman to achieve a goal. Randi and Mike are, without question, the cream of the AAR crop. Love'em both. So, if I'm going to compete, I prefer to compete against the best in the business.

31. Difficult decision

Last weeks ratings of US Liberal Talk Show Hosts, which is based several parameters including content, presentation, web pages, on-line discussions, moderated forums, international appeal, broad-spectrum of callers (rather than same callers evey week), how right wing callers are handled, special sections in the programme, etc., were as follow:

2. Nightcall hosted by Peter Werbe ***** 1 show a week
3. Bernie Ward ***** 4 shows a week
4. Ring of Fire (Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mike Papantonio) ***** 1 show a week

6. Ray Taliferro **** 5 shows a week
7. Politically Direct (David Bender) **** 1 show a week
8. Ecotalk (Betsy Rosenberg) **** 1 show a week
9. The Randi Rhodes Show **** 5 shows a week
10. Thom Hartmann *** 5 shows a week
11. Air America Mornings (Mark Riley 0500 - 0700 and Rachel Maddow 0700 - 0900) ***
12. The Majority Report (Janeane Garofalo, Sam Seder) ** 5 shows a week
13. Nate Clay ** 1 show a week
14. John Rothmann ** 2 shows a week
15. The Young Turks (Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz and Jill Pike) ** 5 shows a week

This is not like an Auditron listener rating system. It is primarily based on Truth telling rather than just rhetoric.

Although Randi Rhodes is nowhere near the top, she does have a huge audience in the US. Her international appeal is limited.

Maybe it would be better to go head to head against Jerry Springer or Al Franken, both of whom are unrated. But then you would be head to head with Stephanie Miller and Thom Hartmann. Stephanie is presently off the ratings as her live show is not presently available online. Her technical team are still trying to solve the problem.

So it is quite a difficult decision.

Since these Talk Show Ratings are based on the fact that they must be available live on the internet, we will monitor your shows at least for 3 weeks before we rate you against the others. But knowing your shows have been outstanding in the past, it is likely that you will get rated much faster than the 3 weeks.
