5. Confirmed here:
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/infinite-justice.htm

Operation Infinite Justice

Following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Department of Defense designated the military response as Operation Infinite Justice. The origins of the name can be traced back to the 1998 Operation Infinite Reach airstrikes against Osama bin Laden's facilities in Afghanistan and Sudan in response to the bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

Following the disclosure of Operation Infinite Justice, Muslim groups protested the name on the basis that their faith teaches that Allah is the only one that could provide "infinite justice".

Operation Infinite Justice was changed to Operation Enduring Freedom on Sept. 25, 2001.

6. That doesn't ring a bell.
For some reason I keep thinking it had something to do with the crusades, but that may be it.

(By the way, what does n/t stand for?)

10. Shortly after 9/11 bush did refer to it as a crusade
I think from his bullhorn speech at ground zero.

n/t stands for "no text", as in "the subject of the post is all there is to say, nothing in the body"

Bush refered to a Crusade early on after 9/11.

7. Yes, Operation Infinte Justice
There was an uproar because only Allah could provide infinte justice. If I remember correctly, "infinite justice" was actually a term used in the Koran or other Muslim writings? Maybe just my faulty memory on that, but Wikipedia seems to support it.

13. I never knew that, and it's interesting to me because
A while back, on another discussion board, the term "Operation Shekhinah" was discussed and the poster was asking if there was any truth to a claim that this had been the name of an Israeli plan, to commence sometime in October 2001, to "steal" Iraq's oil reserves and re-route them through to Haifa in Israel. I have absolutely no idea if this is even true, and I have no links, just writing from memory here. Anyway, this alleged plan was apparently overshaddowed by 911 events and never occured.

And then, as we all know, shortly after came the US invasion of Iraq, which they named: Shock and Awe.

Well, at that time when another poster had asked about that, I googled = Operation Shekhinah and Operation Shock and Awe, and got a bunch of weird stuff, but bottom line, this wiki excerpt sums up what, IMHO, is really a key factor here:

The pronunciation of the phrase "shock and awe" bears some resemblance to the pronunciation of the Hebrew word "Shekhinah" which means, "the glory or radiance of God". This likeness is likely coincidental.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shock_and_awe

Maybe these names they come up with might not be as random or conicidental as one might think.

15. See below:
Last week, in a story about President Bush's goals for his second term, we quoted him as saying: “My top priority is to recapture the Holy Land from the Muslims.” In fact, he said: “My top priority is to spread democracy in the Middle East.” We apologize for the error.

No link anymore, this was from The Onion maybe?
