The polling between Brown and Hackett means nothing
Ok, the polling is: Brown: 46% Hackett: 24% among likely Democratic voters. So what? Most people are not tuned into this race yet and probably don't even know who Hackett is. If we want to go by polling then we might as well give the nomination to Hillary Clinton because she was beating Howard Dean, John Edwards, John Kerry and Wes Clark by like 50 points in early polling three years ago. Brown is well known in Ohio and people are just learning about Hackett.

My feeling is that running Brown and not Hackett is a HUGE mistake! We lose our hero Iraq Veteran in place of someone with a voting record like Kucinich. That is going to play like crap with moderate Republicans. I don't know about you but I think Hackett has real star power and he talks straight and rips the Religious right HARD! He was a breath of fresh air and I am extremely disappointed we won't have him in the Senate. My gut feeling tells me we just handed the Republicans a much easier race. I would like to have seen how well Brown would have done against mean Jean. Probably not nearly as good as Hackett did!

1. I'll have to agree with you.
I have lost a good bit of my zest after the underhanded activity of the good olde boys. I live in southwestern Ohio so my sentiments are home grown.

3. I'm in SW Ohio
and down this way Paul Hackett is a more familiar name than Sherrod Brown.

Paul Hackett was one of the few dems that would have had a chance around here. He got cheated when the ES&S tabulators went down due to 'humidity' :grr: :grr:

I canvassed in Warren Co. and the signs were 9:1 in favor of Hackett over Schmidt.

Ohio dems should have had the opportunity to choose our candidate. Not Shumer & friends.

4. I agree. Hackett even had coattails.
He could have traveled for us.

5. I absolutely agree. This was a Baaad move in MHO.
I don't live in OH, but I do live in a red state and Hackett was the electable one. Grrr. I am STILL mad.

6. It would have been nice to get an anti-Iraq war Rep
who just happened to be an Iraq "war" vet!

I'm disappointed too. Good luck to Brown!
