What nefarious plan is Bush putting into play that will save...
...Republicans from the fire of voter anger? I have never seen an administration so willing to act totally counter to what constituents want. I've often joked that Bush is giving us all the finger, and that pretty much sums up the attitude. Bush and his minions don't care squat about what we think. Yet Bush - and many in the Republican Party - have very low approval numbers. The Bush Administration must realize what their actions mean for the party as voters become more and more angry at Bush policies in the approach to 2006 elections. That leads me to a frightening conclusion.

Bush is planning something. I don't know what's up his sleeve, but something is in the works to "deal with" voter backlash. I don't think the tampered voting machines will do it for him this time. It would take something more - a one up on voting irregularities. So what could they be planning?

That's what scares me. None of the scenarios I'm imagining are good for our future or our country. What do you think Bush and his minions are up to?

4. Why wouldn't the voting machines suffice?
I'm sure there are plenty of other things bush can do to shore up support, but why bother? It seems to me that once one controls the means by which votes are counted, one has democracy by the short hairs.

I wish I could agree. What leads you to believe this?

6. Because they have to be careful how they tamper or they'll get caught.
That limits the number of votes they can divert to their cause. In addition, many states are rejecting the voting machines that they used to tamper with elections. But not a bunch of fighting over it from the guys on the right. That tells me they have another plan, other than voting machines, to keep power.

11. How can they be caught?

By now a lot of us have seen the tabulator hacks. You don't have to be super careful to take an existing number of votes and redistribute the percentages arbitrarily. The neocons have gone out of their way to discredit exit polling, it's one of their greatest "triumphs."

Just take a look at the 30-point swing on the recent voting reform measures in Ohio. If that wasn't proof of election fraud, I don't know what would be, but just try to get those results invalidated.

They're not worried. Business as usual. Do you really think the Dems have a chance? Good, that's exactly how they want you to think.

7. It could be an attack of some sort on California.
On his order his Saudi buddies could launch a secret plan to hit LA. * could then declare martial law: A 10pm curfew for all Americans, carrying "papers" by all adult citizens mandatory, police & tanks in the streets, and most importantly - no elections in 2008!! Bush would remain pres, I mean DICTATOR, until Jeb could be trained for the job.
Fiction? Think again! Who would have envisioned today's disasterous governmental situation way back in 2000?

8. Hate to be the voice of doom but
I am guessing the explosion of a radiological weapon in a cargo container in one of the UAE leased ports. Might explain why today he is refusing to answer questions about the deal. Do you remember when President Kerry warned us about the low number of containers coming into america that are screened? Hope I am wrong.

9. I imagine more of the same
Why would the stop a winning record. More terrorism fighting talk (not actual action), More tax cuts talk, and a large heaping dose of gay bashing. It's basically an intelligence test and America's already scored low twice.

10. Enabling Act
In Germany, it was called "Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Reich." They'll give it an equally Orwellian name.
