I only want one promise from the next Democratic presidential candidate
whoever he or she is . . .

I want them to promise to undo every single, freaking, facist deed done by the Bush junta. Every single one. I want that promise up front. And I want these bastards put in jail -- no "Old President's Club" for this MF, I want Bush & Cheney & Rove & Rumsfeld & McClellan & Roberts & even Pickles in an orange jumpsuit, dammit.

2. I might agree.

But there is an idea that suggests that those very laws be used to go after the criminals.

Won't even have to put them on trial. Scoop them off the street, throw them in jail, and in the name of National Security, lose the key.

3. My bottom line - I want the books opened on everything, especially
all the dealings with the Saudis and our oil policies over the last forty plus years.

Because THAT is what led to 9-11 and the growing fascism we have today.

4. agreed let's start an independent worldcantwait party
agreed and then some. We're sitting on our butts for how many years waiting for the nightmare to end? And the whole time the fascists are planning on just that reaction. Now they're contracting 385million with KBR for detention centers/camps set up in the US? Way too freakin ominous. worldcantwait.org

I want Hackett elected and I want out of the political party that's stood by and complained about lack of subpeana powers. anyone got a way to move forward instead of the same crap we've continued so far?

6. Everything done should be investigated and released
That is, assuming that the next President is allowed to unseal info. that will likely be sealed by Bush for a long time. If the next Democratic POTUS finds any info. on pre-war intelligence, Plame, even Jeff Gannon and "RatherGate" (I'm positive that the White House was involved) it should all be released. 9/11 info. should come out too.

8. That's Where I Disagree.
So many on here put so much weight behind the 08 candidate as if that is where the ultimate power lies in reversing the fascism that has overtaken us.

I'm firm in my belief, however, that taking back Congress by majority in 06 is by far the more powerful way to do that, and greatly minimizes the impact of whomever is chosen in 08.

Fuck 08 right now. Right now take back congress.

11. You know what?
Taking back Congress has been my thought for quite a while now. If a president has an oppositional Congress, they can usually be brought to heel.

Watching how the Democrats have been voting on some VERY serious and substantial issues recently, I'm not so sure I feel that way anymore. I mean, if they're not even making an honest attempt to oppose this idiot and his administration NOW, when we have a groundswell of public support, just what can we realistically expect from them even if they DO manage to take back the majority??

Yes, right now their hands are tied, but over and over again, Im apalled at just how many Democrats will wring their hands and gripe and grouse about the idiot and his asinine policies, but, come time to vote, and they're voting with the Republicans. WTF??

One might think that the Democrats really support these policies, and are just using a golden opportunity to let the Republicans be the bad guys.

Im completely disgusted with and demoralized by the Democrats in the House and Senate right now, and I'm about one step away from walking away from the party.

We Americans are getting screwed both ways, and I'm not sure I believe any longer that either party is really any better than the other.
