Official "recognition of Black History Month" thread
I just realized that we've been ignoring the fact that it is Black History Month.

I bought a book a couple of days ago called someone else's house:america's unfinished struggle for integration--has anyone else read it? I am just starting it today, but it seems good so far.

1. Sounds like a plan! I'll keep my eyes open for that book.

4. I've seen lots on it. Here. Just that there is so much crap surrounding
the WH that all "regular news" gets ignored it seems.

3. There's been some really good programs on BookTV...
Herbert Kohl, She Would Not Be Moved: How We Tell the Story of Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott

Barnet Schecter, The Devil's Own Work: The Civil War Draft Riots and the Fight to Reconstruct America

Tommie Shelby, We Who Are Dark: The Philosophical Foundations of Black Solidarity

The schedule for this weekend is not up yet. Keep your eyes out for the thread Friday night or Sat. morning.
