In your face politics: the pushing of the proverbial envelope by BushCo
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 10:18 PM by ariellyn
It's becoming de riguer, the ratcheting up of scandals by BushCo to levels never before witnessed.

Katrina negligence? Send in some sharp shooters to shake things up a bit, blame everybody else and then throw in a "heckuva job Brownie" for good measure.

Spying on Americans? No denial or apology. Kick it up a notch. Boldly profess to keep on doing it.

And while everybody responds in an uproar the debate moves beyond legality or illegality. In the spying case, politicians are saying that the solution should be to ask Bush to stop continuing to spy. That's all. The over-the-top behavior will be addressed, not the original sin. Just like with Katrina. Brownie became the focal point for all of Bush's sins.

With Cheney we should all be able to predict the outcome. Just like with Katrina, they didn't call the police, they're blaming the ranch owner, and, nobody's talking about the victim(s) or the disaster/scandal. Nobody notices what's being masked by the outrageous effrontery. All that is focused on is their behavior--which is then defended by the traitorous TV hacks who protect them during each scandaal.

I think it is time for a new playbook at BushCo. This one is becoming a bit worn.

1. Rovian politik. Push it to the edge of outrage, wait for numbness..
and then push a little further.

If they encounter outrage or get pushed back, they will just wait for the attention span problem Americans share.

They count on the collective stupidity and brain dumb vacuousness of the average American.

I mean, this is a country whose top rated tv show at one time starred Roseanne Barr.

This is not new, read the little blue line below.

2. I like the sig line, it's fitting. As for this not being new, I think it
is/was. People are not used to such brazen lies and liars. But they lie so much, that they are becoming transparent. I just hope they keep it up, until everybody catches on. In the meantime, I wish that we who are on to them would focus more on what they are covering up.
