If I were a woman ...
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 10:23 AM by 11 Bravo
I'm pretty sure I would have to have George Clooney's baby. The boy calls it like he sees it, and he doesn't give a shit who he may offend.
To RW asshats who ask him why he hates his country and criticizes it in a time of war, Clooney responds: "My country right or wrong means women don't vote, black people sit in the back of buses, and we're still in Vietnam. My country right or wrong means no New Deal. Are you crazy? It's not your right, it's your duty. Now, where was I wrong, schmuck?"
To Dems who wail that they were misled about the alleged ties between Iraq and al-Qaida, Clooney fires back: "Fuck you, you weren't misled. You were afraid of being called unpatriotic."
We need some of that kind of plain talk from Dems on the Hill.

on edit: And as a bonus, he also told O'Reilly to fuck off.

1. Unfortunately -
Clooney has publicly stated he has no desire to breed. Doesn't want kids. Shame, eh?

10. There's no shame in not wanting to have children.
I admire him for his politics *and* his desire not to burden the planet with more people. :applause:

11. True - but he does have good genes.
Was thinking about it purely from a scientific angle - would prefer his genes to carry on than some others out there. ;-)

14. His motives are not quite as noble as those you would ascribe
He's said the reason he does not want a wife/kids is because he doesn't want to be tied down, responsible or .. ahem... faithful. Nothing wrong with being selfish either, or self-aware but it's not exactly noble. At least he's honest. Kudos for that. There are plenty of other reasons to like the guy.

30. Oh, I know.
My own reason for not having children is simply lack of desire to be a mother. It's a side benefit that that means I won't be churning out consumers who will blast hydrocarbons into the atmosphere or add clutter to landfills. Same goes for George.

That doesn't take away from his good ideas, or his dreaminess. :*

2. Wow!
It feels so good to hear someone in the media actually calling it like it is. It's so simple and so plain, but so many people just can't or won't speak out. Look, politicians -- even actors know what's going on. Start taking a cue from Clooney!

Clooney's a triple threat: good-looking, courageous, and liberal!

5. He says what needs to be said and he says it in plan language
that everyone understands, none of this "nuancing" from the DLC that just causes most people to sigh and change the channel or just tune out completely. Those boys in Washington are so scared some right wing hatchet swinger is gonna pick up on a stray word that they've pretty much silenced themselves, good work, boys, now go enjoy your fat retirements on our backs.

Dean's got the right idea. Any "Democrat" who feels the need to try to cut him off at the knees needs to be targeted for elimination from party power, Congressmen and wonks alike.

That's just how it's got to be if the party wants to start winning again.

7. Can we Get GC to Support Sheeler's Impeach Bush
I'll tell you what. If the man moved to RI and ran on his name alone with his sentiments I share as most of us do, I'd step down. This is not about ego. It's about speaking out and acting upon retaking the America we were once proud of being a citizen.

"If I were a woman I'm pretty sure I would have to have George Clooney's baby." :puke:

George would understand that

Heads up: for all who will say they "don't mind" -- that's fine, just don't try t to say it's not sexist bullshit :hi:

27. Yes, women can definitely be sexist toward other women
It's called "internalized oppression," which means that those women have adopted the attitudes and mores of the patriarchal culture they live in. Or that blacks like Clarence Thomas or Hispanics like Alberto Gonzalez, both of whom work against their own ethnic groups in the service of the Patriarchy, do so because they agree that their group is inferior and deserves less and since they want more for THEMselves, they'll go with Patriarchy, thank you.

31. Speaking of sexist bullshit
This meme-- we've seen it before. Aside from the (gender and racially) bigoted insinuations, and the oblique (worthy of the worst "wussie" insult a freeper could think up) let's find the source: is it Limbot, O'Lielly............... O'Bierne? Which bigoted hatemonger flushed this dittoturd into the flow of ideas?

I have even more respect for him as a patriot for making this film. I just saw it a week ago, and it was really stunning.

It makes you hope that more journalists today will stop cowtowing to their corporate sponsors and take on those in the government who are wrong.

24. But he didn't need to rag on Michael Moore.
I have enjoyed all of Moore's films. He is what he is, and it's cool for different people to have different styles. Not everyone can look like a modern-day Cary Grant and charm the pants off a room while getting a political message across.

Kudo's to Clooney for all his work, but enough with the hateratin'.
